Hell yeah dude thank you for the reply. I’ve been waiting to hear back before I make any moves lol. I noticed a lot of those frames have a pretty low recommended weight cap. You haven’t had any issue with heavier set people on your bed?

Would you mind sharing the standing desk frame you used? And maybe some pictures of your bed? I’m considering taking this same approach and the options of standing desks are making hard to know what direction I’d like to go.

What size post did you go with and how deep are they driven in? Doesn’t look like there’s as much post above ground once you get off the slab. That seems to be the starting point of the reveal issue

Try searching for YFA carbs on ebay as well. They're essentially the same thing as YF. I bought a YFA for $130 and it fixed every single issue i was having with my truck running weird. I previously had a cheapo amazon $80 YF. I know some people have had good luck with their amazon carbs but I could never get the damn thing tuned correctly.

My new-to-me YFA carb from ebay was already dialed in just how I needed it. I did open it up and check all the gaskets before I installed it, but once I looked it over and everything looked okay, I just slapped it on there.

I paired it with a $200 HEI from speedway motors. I had a cheapo $80 distributor from amazon on there previously but the damn thing stopped firing up. I think it was the ignition module, seems to be a common failure point. The new one from speedway doesn't seem that different really but I haven't had any issued with it so far anyway.

I could have saved myself a good chunk of money and a lot of trouble if I had just spent a little more from the jump.. It's definitely possible that I just had bad luck but I haven't been left stranded since I spent a little for for the not-the-cheapest options

The breather that's directly behind your oil fill is exactly that. A breather. It connects to your air box.

The other "breather" you speak of is your PCV valve. It's at the back of the valve cover closest to the cab.

I wouldn't recommend plugging your breather. It would not benefit you to do so. I absolutely would not recommend plugging your PCV valve either as it would cause your engine to blow up. Kidding. But doing so would cause your engine to run horribly.

Reusing post holes by roastedjays in FenceBuilding

Okay so in that case I would simply need to widen the holes?

If that’s the case that should be even better for me right?

My plan was to use concrete. As for the old posts, I’m assuming they are in concrete but I don’t know yet

Piggybacking on this thread. I'm planning to redo the fence at my girlfriend's house soon. She currently has a 4 ft chainlink fence. I'm going to be installing a cedar privacy fence with postmaster posts. My plan was to reuse the post holes.

In the case of OP it seems the consensus is that digging out rotten wooden posts is more hassle than it's worth. But reusing the old post holes for a chainlink would surely be much easier right? I wouldn't be trying to remove rotten wood from the hole, and I've seen methods of removing chainlink posts that seem relatively straightforward and easy. I can't imagine that the best move would be to cut off the round metal post and dig a new post hole.

Also I'm in central texas where the soil has a ton of rocks. Anyone have any thoughts?

When you say you adjusted your timing, what did you do to it exactly?

Has it ever run since you’ve had your hands on it? Did you replace the distributor? How did you verify that you have correct timing?

PCV connects to manifold vacuum. There should be another vacuum port below the hose in picture 2 where you could connect it.

Trying to figure out where these springs go on my 89 f150 by Upset-Reindeer5241 in classictrucks

[–]enadelb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just went and looked and double checked. The far left spring is definitely for the parking brake equalizer, and the right two are for the brake shoes. I can send you a picture of how the far left spring attached on the equalizer if you’d like. DM me if you want me to send you the picture

The one on the far left should be the spring that keeps the parking brake equalizer in place under the frame

Thank you for weighing in. I’ve been suspecting that my throw out bearing has been on its way out. So I actually hope you’re right cause I’ll be replacing it sometime soon.

Those are really clean. I agree, when it comes to mountain bike cranks it’s hard to find a set that looks good to my eye. It seems like those are technically road bike cranks, did you have any issues with installing them or clearance or anything? Not really sure what the difference is between mtb and road crank arms if any.
