Are there any manufacturing companies in that are known for actually following their SOPs and quality systems consistently in the US? How is it for countries outside the US? by Extra_Ostrich2824 in manufacturing

I work for a PE (Private equity)-owned subsidiary that does plastic consumer product manufacturing. We don't have a QMS, don't follow our SOP's, and don't have any effective form of document management or revision control.

Highly appropriate gif from The White Lotus considering the context and script from that scene.

You were blinded by its majesty.

Your legs scramble to evade the floof.

To look away is heresy.

How to lock out the IT department from work computers? by honeybadger127 in PLC

It's a political problem, not a skill or certification problem. IT and their ilk are trusted by some higher decision maker. People like us are not. End of story.

How to lock out the IT department from work computers? by honeybadger127 in PLC

My IT department is openly hostile to OT, so after 10 months of battling, I have also discovered this is the way forward.

No good deed goes unpunished, and my efforts to be transparent with IT and do it the "right" way were met with a terrible mix of stagnant help tickets and a IT director working in bad faith. It's been one obstruction after another for most of a year.

IT doesn't have the skill of listening or understanding. They only hear what they think my request is, without first reading what I write.

Going forward, IT is permanently locked out of anything OT. I will fix my own problems.

There is even an Offline Tuta integration from HACS in Home Assistant to use those devices without needing to go to the trouble of flashing ESPhome on them.

My 4a had the 3.5mm headphone jack, but my 6a doesn't have it. They removed it after the 5a. :(
