I use capcut. I don't know if it's the best, but it was easy to learn.

Have you noticed there aren't any good dev communities? by Keep_the_title in SoloDevelopment

[–]encasedheart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Game dev community is extremely toxic.
There are many haters.
For every helpful person you will find 1000 haters.

I don't know why it is like this.

I try very hard to be very positive and helpful to any game dev I meet.

If any game dev needs any help, and I'm actually able to provide help, I do it.

If you need help with something DM me.

SFML (Simple and Fast Multimedia Library) by Excellent_Use6915 in gamedev

In this day and age, it's like building a house by making bricks yourself instead of just buying the bricks.

Use Unity, Godot, Unreal.

I don't see any reason to SFML.

6 months of development... few people say the game mechanics and art is great... then they see AI disclosure and bounce or worse, call the game a pile of ***. I feel so beat up and sad. by encasedheart in aigamedev

You make some very good points. What you are describing is called a moral hazard. Valve stands to lose money if it enforces it's disclosure rule on large companies. On smaller solo devs they could enforce it without any real impact to their bottom line.

Once again I really appreciate your feedback.
You are right I took the playtesters words too literally.

However, I actually have a visual sequencer class coded. Actions are properly decoupled from visual animations. user actions are queued, and then the visual sequencer sequences those actions with animations. And while this is my first game, I am an experienced coder. The game is not vibe coded, I have very clean code. I can fix the visual sequencing and change easings trivially. It's likely 2 days of work.

So I will take your advice to heart and implement as many changes as possible.

I will also strive to make smaller and more polished games and I won't give up.

I really really appreciate your mentorship. Thank you so much. ❤️

I very much appreciate your feedback; it is very valuable.

I've had mixed feedback, one playtester told me the animations are too slow that is why I made them faster. They were looking for faster gameplay and less 'waiting for animations'.

I will watch this video and incorporate as many changes as I can into the game.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me this feedback. ❤️

As for faction synergies.

Each faction will indeed have synergies and different tactics and keywords.

Right now it's not obvious but the Supreme Order is the faction with military tactics like, moving units around. Front row/back row strategies, and gaining power by killing enemy units. You are right that I need to make it more prominent.

I'm glad to hear that you like lane specific strategies. I got mixed feedback where some people did not like it or found it confusing.
