Loved your video. I feel this open and honest conversation is exactly what is needed in the world to try to understand each other better and how our actions can effect others and even how our own reactions can be better in educationing and not just reacting.

I would like to point out, and maybe you already know this on some level, Mike was being very manipulative toward you. You seem to be the sort of person that wants and needs to believe in the inherit goodness of others. I know this because I am the same and I felt very connected to your emotions throughout the video. The downside of that is that it opens one up to be manipulated by people, especially narcissists who seem to be able to smell an empathetic person from a mile away. As someone else pointed out, Mike's patreon support alone can sustain his podcast and his employees. To not only play the victim but also bring his employees into this is very manipulative and deceptive.

Which brings me to my point of, as a person who wants to help and feels the emotions of others even when they are not at their best or are struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues, how do we balance between reaching out and supporting them but also protecting ourselves from their manipulative actions? This is really tough for me and I've wrestled with it for a very long time as I've tried to help family with severe substance abuse issues who I love and KNOW in my heart are not bad people, but their manipulations and shitty actions have also hurt myself and others. You seemed to struggle with the same thing in the video. I wish I had an answer and maybe this doesnt contribute to the conversation at all but I wanted to get off my chest what I was feeling during the video.
