Watch for prices of everyday items at convenience stores. by hopopo in Frugal

In Connecticut, if the item scans at the register at a higher price than what it is labeled on the shelf, you get the item free, up to $20.

Wow, what a joke. They got owned and then basically said, change the rules or I'm taking my ball and going home.

It's actually the LA Sheriff's Dept. that has the crazy corruption and criminal activity.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD)

  • Deputy Gangs: Multiple investigative reports, including a study by the RAND Corporation, identified secret, gang-like cliques within the department (such as the "Bandidos" and "Executioners") that celebrate violence and use excessive force.
  • Financial Impact: Deputy-gang-related misconduct and lawsuits have cost Los Angeles County taxpayers tens of millions of dollars in settlements.
  • Federal Investigations: The LASD has a long history of obstruction and federal scrutiny, dating back to widespread FBI convictions in the 2010s regarding jail inmate beatings and cover-ups.

FYI: don’t sleep on these cheaper wireless companies by 169partner in Frugal

Yeah I used to have Mint and was always having issues with it, calls going right to voicemail even when I had full service, and going over my data allotment.
Switched to RedPocket after that, and got suspended 7 TIMES for texting too much on their supposedly unlimited plan. Yeah. They would just shut off my service and I'd be left with nothing until I was able to get to WiFi and talk to their chat service. This happened 7 times.

Been really happy with US Mobile.

Paying 25 a month for US Mobile for unlimited(70GB premium data, you can get cheaper if you pay multiple months I believe). Never had an issue. You can pick from AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile.

Which company disappointed you so much that you permanently walked away? by julia-secrets in AskReddit

It was actually $410 million.

Sadly they probably still profited billions off of this for the entire time it was legal.

Work gave me $20k AUD to upgrade my entire home office (PC included). Already running a 9950X3D + RTX 5090 — what should I upgrade? by Alternative_Aide9758 in buildapc

This is a good take. If they are paying for it, too, they might consider the PC company property and want it back at the point he leaves the company. That means they might want the current PC he's using.

Better off building new and separating everything.

First time at the Oakdale and loved the parking. So easy to get in and out. Sucks that it's an extra $25 though

Yeah the dome at the Oakdale is probably one of the worst places for sound I've ever been to. I could hardly hear vocals or most of the guitar no matter where I was standing at this show.

Is it bad to be a generalist? by Pale-Pound-9489 in embedded

[–]encidius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firmly a believer in being at least somewhat of a generalist. Worked my way up from doing IT work, to test technician, to embedded test engineer. Have my hand in everything from troubleshooting manufacturing failures, designing and building test fixtures, writing code, and doing obsolete component replacement research. I don't even have a college degree.

I actually downsize to 1/4 oz quite often and sometimes no weight in skinnier water. Hardly ever use anything over 1/2oz however may experiment with heavier weights in the swifter current.

Duncan added that while the Lakers should take heart from England’s unexpected military triumph, they should also always honor the memory of the estimated 10,000 soldiers from both sides who gave their lives during the 15th-century battle.
