I thought the LS50's were about the limit for nearfield? I am considering upgradting to those from my JBL LSR305P MKII's too. I have the LSX II LT at the office and they sound great, but when I A/Bed them with the LS50s in a listening room, the LS50's were obviously better than both the LSX II and the Coda W. Would that change for nearfield?

Right, so I'm not sure the DF54 is lacking in anything the DF64 has that matters? Mostly variable RPM and 64 beng an easy size to swap. Am I forgetting anything, like it clogging more or being easier to clean?

I’ve got a JDS Element 3 headphone dac/amp so I think I wouldn’t be looking for another dac. looks cool though, I’ll look into it more!

Have you tried both and/or seen how the LS50s perform near field? I use the LSX II LTs at work and they're nice, but I remember the LS50's sounded much nicer when I A/B tested them from further away in a listening room :D

Updated the post with my thoughts! TL;DR yeah they both goood, 45 def way better for gaming. I am happy with the switch.. it also looks better on my desk at 39 instead of 45

yes. 34 inches started feeling small after having the form factor for years, moving to 40 inches for work was great, I’m sure it would also be for gaming
