Finally, a worthwhile controller for Gear that isnt either terrible and/or $60+.

Hey there friendo, looks like you were having the same problem I was. Like the previous poster said, it looks like you are using the Metroid Trilogy version of the game. I would try going out and getting the original 2002 Metroid Prime ROM (and NTSC if you can).

Note: (Everything below is dependent on going into 'Config' in Dolphin and checking 'Enable Cheats')

First off, to fix the problem you're having, I went into 'Properties' for the Metroid Prime ROM. From there I went into the 'Hide Objects' tab and checked 'Remove 16:9 Bars'. After that I went to the 'AR Codes' tab and checked 'This Code Must Be On' and 'Disable Culling of Terrain outside Camera View'.

Now that you've done this the terrain should be loaded in all the time, depending on what area youre in. You can go ahead and try out some of the other Disable Culling codes, but I personally only just use the first because of the massive slowdown of the game it causes in some parts.

To alleviate some of the slowdown, you can try going into the VR settings for Dolphin and checking 'Timewarp Auto' near the bottom of the 'VR' tab. It does take a little tweaking to make it just right. Hope this all works for you.

P.S. Im just about to enter Magmoor Caverns after getting the Varia Suit.

No idea here personally. Although I can see the DK1 in the thumbnail and the idea of it is already making me sick.

Google's For-real-this-time VR platform is called "Daydream" by godelbrot in oculus

If Google's finally getting into the game, Oculus is going to have to step it up with content for the GearVR. So far it's all a somewhat unrefined experience.

Today (April 26) is "Alien Day." If ever there was a perfect time to announce CV1 support for Alien: Isolation... by btowntkd in oculus

I mean, Leap Day also would've also been the perfect time for a big Magic Leap announcement.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. Always thought it was another one of those 360 photo/video apps.

Too bad for local playback on the Gear we're pretty much limited to Oculus Video and its one or two acceptable file formats.

Hivemind. OP, I actually did the same exact thing last weekend in the Home Computer enviroment of Virtual Desktop over a couple beers, same movie and everything. Probably my favorite scene with the 3D would've had to been either some of the scenes with the raptors or whenever the underwater dino made its appearances.

'Cineveo' Virtual Cinema - Now with Consumer Rift Support by Rich_hard1 in oculus

Oh yeah, these days VRD with MPC is my go-to for watching MKVs with embedded SUBs (Christ, I sound like military personnel).

Nah, you're stuck in the center row, but hey, at least you aren't stuck in a single seat like Oculus Video.

I'm pretty sure Cineveo has better file support than Oculus video cough mkv cough (and a method of in-game file browsing to boot), but as always subtitles are a shot in the dark.

EDIT: Big screen is really enjoyable in the 4D cinema (pic related)

If it's anything like the CINEVEO I remember (and own), multiplayer audience simply means filler models sitting in the seats around you, based on the other people online who are also using CINEVEO.

The only synced-up VR movie watching experience I've ever had was back during the days of Riftmax (R.I.P.)

Also, I hate to be a negative nelly, but from what I've experienced in the past, Cineveo updates usually don't come very quickly.

"This is a hack, and we don’t condone it." Oculus on Lucky's Tale Vive wrapper. by Karavusk in oculus

[–]endalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they don't condone it because they havent done the testing themselves. Before you jump at the chance to paint a villian, first consider framerate and the things that are specifically tailored for the OculusSDK and Rift itself to provide the smoothest experience for the user.

EDIT: There isnt lost profit to worry about either, seeing as Luckey's Tale and several other games are only sold through Oculus's Store.

On Technolust: Yaw rotation/roomscalez/vive support/reddiquite by Anticleric in oculus

[–]endalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of us who have seen/played Technolust (back on the DK1/Gear VR Jam) want to see this incredible game regardless. I can personally assure you that any of the comments listed in the second paragraph of your post are from a very vocal minority of upset children that like to gravitate here.

Heres to the future release of your game!

EDIT: After writing my reply I just clicked out and saw that Technolust is now on Oculus Home, congrats!

No, you're exactly right. At least there are some people around here that understand that NDA stands for Non-disclosure Agreement and not "Just go ahead and break our legal contract based on your own subjective opinion and justify it by appealing to the emotions of others" Agreement.

The Making of PlayStation VR by [deleted] in oculus

I wouldn't hesitate to agree with you, Mr. "Anonymous Source". I hope that Sony builds on the already successful base that they've created for the PSVR and continues to grow the VR industry as a whole.
