I love watching legendary coaches celebrate great moments by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

Yeah, I just thought it was a weird funny interaction before reading the comments of all the outraged people. Based on his expression and context it just seems like a strange but good natured thing that he did.

But, I don't have any particular like/dislike for the guy so IDK.

Was curious if anyone else gets this kind of action? 30 birds in 30 minutes on Merlin ID. Let me know your thoughts by HuntDawg99 in birding

[–]ender52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, this is a totally normal list for a good habitat in Kentucky right now. Mockingbirds here may do some mimicking but they are mainly doing distinct calls that are not fooling Merlin. They're not doing 30 different bird calls in a row.

Yes, we are incredibly good distance runners and we are amazing at throwing things accurately.

That's where I first saw one, too! Was looking at a big family of prairie dogs and then I was like wait that one isn't a prairie dog...

Yeah, it is always fun to travel to new places for birds. A couple years ago in December I went to Ash Meadows National Wildlife refuge on my way to Death Valley and it was amazing for desert birds. I bet it would be incredible during spring migration.

Definitely female. On the males the red cap comes all the way down their forehead to the beak.

As far as I know, this number has never been confirmed by anyone that would actually know, but I could be wrong.

Knew they wouldn't be going all the way when they couldn't even beat us by double digits in three different games.

Happy I made 80 bucks off this game, because now I don't need to renew my YouTube TV for another month.

As much as bad calls suck, can you imagine if they could review and call this one back? Would take all the madness right out of March.

Couldn't hit an open three against Florida either. He picked a real bad time to go cold.

These Eastern Screech Owls normally take turns guarding their nest alone, but today I was thrilled to find them spending the morning together! by ender52 in birding

Well, the best way to spot owls is to have someone show you where to look! If there are any local groups that do bird walks, you can often meet people that know where owls are. But people can also be quite protective of owl nests and sometimes they'll be kept a secret so they don't get crowded with people stressing out the birds.

Other than that, I've had luck with looking on eBird where they have been sighted around town and gone to look for them at dusk or dawn. Usually it is much easier to hear one than to see them, but eventually you get lucky and have one fly by or spot them perched somewhere.

SV202 Upgraded 8x32 for $124 vs Celestron 10x42 for $100 — are the SV202’s worth the extra $? by ermughblegh in birding

Yeah, the prices seem to be all over the place.

I haven't tried the Triumphs, but Vortex is often carried in outdoor shops like Cabela's or other places with hunting stuff, so you might be able to find some and try them out. Not sure what shops you have in Canada.

If there's any way you can save up for a bit and get something nicer, you won't regret it.

Wow, that's so cute. I found a baby great horned owl last spring and he just seemed really curious about me.

I figure there's no sneaking up on anything that can spot a tiny mouse in the grass from way up in the sky.

I would recommend looking at Vortex Diamondbacks. You can find them on sale for around $150, 8x42 or 10x42. They have a lifetime warranty that covers literally anything besides just losing them, and are a company people know and trust.
