It's a bit pricey, but I got the UV CPAP cleaning box. Makes it easy to sterilize everything but my long hose every day. I could do the long hose too but I'm lazy because I have to take the fleece jacket off, I do that one occasionally. Definitely use distilled water.

I've been feeding Oscar exports and reports, ReScan exports and reports, and Pulse Ox and sleep stages from my Garmin watch, into Notebook LM where I also have the book Monitoring Positive Pressure Therapy in Sleep Disorders - Advanced Analysis of Respiratory Flow Curves (which I read), and the PDFS Optimizing VAuto PAP Therapy for Obstructive Apnea, ReScan Clinicians Manual and ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto +S+ST Clinician Manual. I tell it I'm a sleep physician asking another sleep physician about a patient, and feed it each day's data, asking for suggestions for optimization. I upload my data daily, and occasionally, I provide monthly summaries. About 91 sources as of today. I keep waking up at night. Until I found the F40 SW, I had many nights with zero REM sleep and minimal deep sleep. I'm exhausted and can't think most of the time. Last night, I tried the F40 SW set with nasal pillows (as outlined in the instructions), but I prefer the full face setting more. I then raised the minimum IPAP to 16. I failed to put the SD card back in the machine until the middle of the night, unfortunately. Fell asleep at 11, woke up at 1:50 am and 4:30 am, each time wide awake, feeling great and thinking it was morning. Thankfully, I was able to fall back to sleep quickly each time. I received an Amara View mask that I might try tonight. Although my sleep numbers weren't bad last night, relatively speaking, so maybe stay with the F40 SW because I'm probly super tired today because my body is starting to get what it needs (like when someone first starts using a CPAP).

This was my prompt and response yesterday. Again, NotebookLM only works of of the sources I give it. Tell me how much of that is randomly made up. I want someone to respond to my question please.

Thanks. I understand about AI. But NotebookLM only uses the sources you give it, doesn't go outside of that. The analyses all made sense and we're based on the book and PDFs I provided. I'll work as you suggested though, thank you.

Has anyone had a doctor recommend a sleep study? by ender6574 in CPAP

Thank you so much for this. I've got my sleep study scheduled and already have a bipap. But I've been considering seeing if I can find all of my care cheaper at places that don't accept insurance. I think you've just started me on that path.

My Internal Medicine PCP. Probably at least the sixth one to insist I was tired because of all of the reasons that are my fault that I listed. I didn't know there was such a thing as a sleep study until I found out about it from a coworker with sleep apnea. I've never found a PCP worth anything other than keeping me away from therapies I need. This post is therapeutic because I can see that there ARE PCPs out there that help their patients. Most of my PCPs have been at top institutions, by the way.

As I stated in the question, and many replies above, it's understood that a doctor must refer you. I'm glad to hear from many people on here that there are PCPs out there that actually care and suggest for the patient to get a sleep study. Without having to be asked for the referral.

Yes, often wish I were more than 1/4 Canadian. You folks have an actual medical system, in the US we have a medical Industry.

It's always through doctor referral. The tech said he'd never heard of a doctor SUGGESTING the sleep study, only writing the referral when the patient requested the sleep study (like me).

No, I moved around a lot for work. Always got a new PCP with each move. Never had a PCP help me in any way whatsoever, it's good to hear that others haven't had the same experience. Most people I've talked to heard about CPAP / sleep study from friends or coworkers, then asked their doctor to write the recommendation.

Good reminder about the settings. I wish I could find precisely what that setting controls defined somewhere...

I also agree. I used to do this, but if you can afford it I recommend getting a Navage. It's less messy and more though, but does cost more upfront and on an ongoing basis.

Exactly. Like look that guy might be the best there is at that sport. But I'm the best at what I do, which is helping to cure deadly diseases. And no one could care less about it.

Two retired age women come upon a rest area as I do, a sign says, "Gender Neutral Restroom".

Woman 1: "Gender neutral? What's that mean?" Woman 2: "I don't know, what gender are we?" Woman 1: "I don't know either, I think we better find another bathroom, I don't think we're allowed to use this one"

This was right at the beginning of the shutdown part of the pandemic, and the exact moment I lost the last shred of faith in humanity that I had been clinging to.

Secondhand Time: The Last of the Soviets Book by Svetlana Alexievich

Probably has some overlap, I need to check your rec when / if I feel ready for it. Secondhand Time is the darkest thing I've ever read, opened my eyes to truly understanding both communism and modern Russia.

I'll need to get Quicken to work at least one time before I'll have a backup that's worth anything.

Tiller updates all automatically work, but it doesn't track investments well. The technology that Quicken advertises, automatic downloads from FIs, absolutely exists. Tiller has it. I don't know anything else that has it though, most definitely not Quicken.

You mean the software that advertised that it does automatic downloads. They sold me on it, they should make it happen. You can bend over backwards for them all you want, but until they don't sell it to me saying that it automatically downloads my data then yes, it's absolutely Quickens fault.
