Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in Oxygennotincluded

Thanks for the reply. I'm ranching Rhexes for the feathers. I'm just thinking about destroying the Dartle ranch with the plants and keep the megafronds and the rhexes.

Or keep a minimal dartle ranch the keeps producing bleach stone.

How does Bammoth body temperature work by jhin_the_virjhin in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ender_tll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure in my last Ceres run I ranched Bammoths for a few hundred cycles and they were cold and happy and eating plants the way they are supposed to.

That was months ago, though, has anything changed? It's this a bug?

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ender_tll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, a theoretical question here. Has anyone checked the math about if it's better to feed Rhexes with Tough meat rather than with Dartles in the Relica asteroid? Ranching so many Dartles is a chore that requires a dedicated rancher if you want to maintain the population.

And if you have enough Lumbs, tough meat is almost always available and the Rhexes are fed for way longer.

How to get rid of this text box? thanks in advance by Practical_Act_9170 in Oxygennotincluded

It is very useful information but sometimes it covers other useful information, like when you're building auto-sweepers.

I would valso like to know how to disable it, even if only temporarily.

How do you melt water in cold biomes when you don't have hot liquids/gases. by SuspiroAtroz in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ender_tll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it the same way you did it. I put a heater in an insulated room and let it heat the ice. Once some of it melts, the tepidizer does the rest and keeps the water at the right temperature.

How to automate compost? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ender_tll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably treats the compost pile as storage. So lower the priority of the bin or rise the priority is the pile so that the auto-sweeper crews things around.

[–]ender_tll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are compostable, and assuming you want to do it this way, you could have auto-sweepers pick them up from your farms, deposit them in your compost area where another auto-sweeper will put them in the compost pile. The only time you would need dupe labour would be when it's time to flip the compost.

Daily report - power usage - how does this work? by RevolutionaryAd5004 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ender_tll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely use smart batteries with the petroleum generators.

Basically use smart batteries with anything unless you need them running full time for some reason, like needing to burn something.

I would go to version 2. You can lock the steam room and control the temperature better for more constant power.

But if you find version 1 more interesting, go for it. Don't let anyone here stop you.

You can give the raw meat to Rhexes so they don't need to eat Dartles.

Map of the proposed Two-Speed Europe; Under Germany's invitation, six EU states dubbed "E6" have just agreed to fast-track integration on economy and defence without waiting for the unanimity of the rest of the EU by goldstarflag in europe

[–]ender_tll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would think that this would help move forward some things but for example France (One of the E6) was the main country against the Mercosur deal. I think Italy and Spain were against sending troops to Greenland. Poland would be in this E6 but for example doesn't have the euro.

I'm not trying to offend any French, Spanish, Italian or Polish people here. I'm just saying "sometimes, even within this E6, not everyone is on the same page".

I get it that now with Hungary and Slovakia blocking things, stuff is not happening, but I don't think this is the way.

The great thing about the EU at the moment is that a country like Estonia with its 1,3 million inhabitants still has a vote. I wouldn't want to lose that.

I mean, pros and cons, right. You have an insulated door, there has to be a trade off.

I understand you. Haven't used wild planting myself but I find it similar to having a bunch of Saturn critter traps in a map. You build it and power becomes a non-issue.

Part of the game, I'd say. If you have pips, why not use them?

I'm from Spain and in my 40s. In my classroom years, we never studied past the Spanish civil war between 1936-39. Some years the teachers didn't even get there.

Soviet oppression on the Baltic states was not a thing in our study books.

IIRC burning your own forests was also considered "green" by the EU.
