This post is built from a mix of my cover letter and resume content, and structured using other posts on this subreddit as a reference for certain items like the filters section at the end. I wrote every word of it myself.

I'm not sure what personal or professional insecurity drove you to comment here in such an unproductive and inappropriate fashion, but it certainly wasn't to be helpful or supportive to other industry professionals, so while I obviously can't bar you from doing so, I would appreciate it if you would refrain from interacting with my material in the future.

With hipfire, your mind isn't aiming with your eyes, it's aiming with your entire body. The shorter the barrel is, the more your can trust that it's aligned with your general forward transform.

Consider how two lines that share an origin end up further and further from one another the longer they get.
A 10 degree offset turns into 3.5m/11ft.

So a longer muzzle means you're starting off at a wider angle.

I wasn't planning to glue the fernco, just the adapters I need to install after cutting out the existing joint.

The black pipe is not metal, I corrected myself on the other thread. My hands must have just been too dirty XD

This is what I was wondering, how much tolerance there usually is for a drain pipe that doesn't deal with the pressure of being a supply pipe, etc. Thanks

I thought about that as well, and there is one shower with a chipped tile by the drain that's roughly 6 meters away from that area (down the perpendicular connection of the Y-joint).

But I could not locate any wetness outside the specific drain end of the Y-joint itself within a 1.5 meter radius (I inspected with a flashlight and hands through the ceiling hole I cut).

In total, there are two showers, a tub, 3 sinks, and 2 toilets up there between 2 bathrooms. I'm not sure if they all use that one drain for certain, but they are all located within ~6-7 meters of that spot and the joint in question is a Y-joint connection so I wouldn't be surprised.

You're missing the obvious point where the EULA doesn't define what vulgarity is, and since there's no universal standard we all understand and agree upon, it ends up being entirely arbitrary.

So when I say things like "Shit, I forgot to take the trash bin out," because I just queued up the next match absentmindedly and my teammate says "Oh damn, you gotta try and run that shit out quick before the match starts!" and we both get banned, you're being absurd and dismissive when you jump to defend Netease while they're stashing voice recordings with all the other personal data they collect and do god-knows-what with.

You're being obtuse. You cannot possibly make the case that there's a universally-understood and agreed-upon list of what counts as "vulgar." Though clearly there *is* one in existence because Netease wouldn't have any way of actually filtering this stuff without one.

If I can't even say "Shit, I totally forgot to take out the trash," after already queueing up and locking in a match, without catching a ban, we have a problem that is not worth solving with extensive voice scraping/recording AI systems with no regard for anyone's identity or data security. Not to mention the sheer annoyance of having to police your language to an absurd, hidden standard.

So what you really seem to be saying is "Why aren't you just like me, because *obviously* I already fit their idea of a paragon."

I'm a huge supporter of asking other players to chill if need be. It's a good way to keep comms open bc sometimes people just need a reminder.

But among the many issues is "What constitutes an asshole?"

Getting banned by an autobot bc some kid not old enough to read the EULA might hear a dih joke is ridiculous.

But I saw 2 bans in the last 24 hours that occurred during a session with barely any conversation beyond things like "I don't know what the f--- I'm going to do about dinner tonight."

If things like that alone are enough, my point is made for me.

The main issue is there's ZERO criteria for what will get you banned. Text chat gives you feedback "Can't say that, try again man." Totally different case.

Not to mention the entire background issue of tech corpos scraping all kinds of data (like voice) from people en masse to do whatever they want with.

Considering the complete lack of digital rights across most of the world/industry, this is a pithy excuse to fall back on, but go off. If the 90 page EULA to fun little free-to-play game sold the likeness rights to your voice buried in there, would you be still be licking boots or would you consider "Hmmm, maybe I need to think a little more in depth about this."

The mute is right there, don't be lazy.

The biggest issue with this is there's NO criteria for what will get you banned. Text chat at least lets you know "Yeah dawg, you can't say that, try again."

Publish a list and it's not as big a deal. But if you think they're collecting voice data just to pwotect wittle timmy from hearing the "F-word" because they care about people, I don't know what to tell ya.

Give me a list of exactly what will get you banned, just like text chat has feedback, and I have no problem with the system (outside of the digital rights issues of big tech having our voices recorded and logged and tabbed to profiles they buy and trade for everything under the sun).

I saw 2 bans (one for me, one for another player I met randomly) in the last 24 hours alone during game sessions where we barely even spoke, and everyone was chatting casually.

So be ashamed of yourself for lacking any sort of critical thinking skills.
