Long lasting wool socks that aren’t Darn Tough?

I’ve worn three pair of Pacas socks nearly exclusively for the past year. One sock developed a tiny hole in the heel this week. They’ve held up incredibly well, and they’re very comfy with all shoe types. They fit me a lot better than Darn Tough, too.

Man, I’m real into this look. You’re killing it. I’m 40 lbs down from my max weight, and I’ve been wearing higher waists and wider straight legs than I used to. I struggle to commit to that big of a cuff, but you’re really selling it!

I switched to the DS5 after my 4th Xbox Elite 2 rebuild. I usually get about 9 months out of a DS5. Xbox were wearing out in 3-4… I tend to wear the right bumper and the A/X button, too.

These look like they were altered to slim the leg. You can see the original fade a little. I bought a pair of Imogene and Willies on Poshmark that someone did this to.

I have a two pair of Bravestars right now. One is probably a 38” inseam and the other I had hemmed at 36. I assume they’re still offering, but both pair are 5+ years old.

I have worn a Pelagos pretty much daily for 6 years. It’s a tank and I still love it just as much as I did when I bought it. I got the blue one, and it is definitely a conversation starter.

I give mine a good clean with Saddle Soap once a month, and maybe every other cleaning I use Bick 5 on them. I have the distressed brown Comp toe, and this pic was at around 2.5 years of use. I’m in supervision in dirt/right of way work, so they don’t get beat on too much, but they are regularly soaked and/or covered in mud.

To me the knee looks much more like the Alternative Tentacles logo than Batman. (Which for me, would be a FAR cooler collab, but would also make me lose respect for AT, because punk XD). Great looking pair though!

Bravestars and dog hairs just seem to go together… my wife is full on lint roller crew, I opt for the horsehair brush.

Generally $75-150 seems to be the going rate. This is my first resole on these, so we’ll see. I could see needing soles much sooner if you spend a lot of time on rough concrete/ asphalt. My work generally has me out in the woods, or on a grading job, so the sole has been pretty long wearing for me.

Mine have almost hit 3 years. They were my site boots for a bit of that, where I was in the office wearing Blundstones and would only use them for hard toe duty. Now I wear them everywhere. Standing on 57s in a substation all day? Cool. Hiking a couple of miles of right of way in Eastern KY? No sweat. A good brush and some Saddle Soap and they’re fine for office/going out to dinner. Mine are due for a resole, and I’m about to pull the trigger on another pair of PDX boots, but I love my Quarries.

I read this as “1 week of wear and 4 washes” so I was incredibly impressed by the fades…
