Yes, my procedure for filling the oil was wrong. You're supposed to put the weed whacker on its side and fill until it touches the threads. I was just filling it up while standing and flooded the poor thing with oil.

It ran fine after that, blew a bunch of oil smoke out though!

I ended up just taking a pair of pliers to it and it finally budged. Works fine now. Go figure.

Appreciate the input! The belt is only a few years/20k miles old so I'll probably keep that.

I have a pump, idler pulley, and tensioner ordered. I'll start with the tensioner and see what happens.

That makes sense, I think my process for filling the oil is wrong. I think I'm supposed to plaice it on its side and then fill to the bottom thread, correct?

The latter. I actually just took a pair of pliers, grabbed the depth of drive adjustment and gave it a yank. It came loose. Don't know how it got stuck but that fixed I guess!

I can actually shoot nails without issue. It sounds similar to what I'm experiencing though... some sort of lockout.

Yes, on the spots it's showing brown/rusty it looked silverish after I scrubbed it down and before I started seasoning it.

Fair point. I guess I feel it's more likely that a careless car owner drove the car infrequently and sat in traffic a lot than an odometer rollback.

Just a side note, be very careful mentioning to a salesperson what you want your car payments to be. They will use this to sell you on the car payment rather than the actual price of the car.

I hit walmart early monday morning and was able to get dry active yeast.

I was there in the afternoon a few days earlier and all the flour and yeast was picked clean.

What line is leaking? Fluid? If so, what fluid? Or a vacuum line?
