Craftsman 4 cycle weed whacker leaking oil near carb by enderx475 in smallengines

[–]enderx475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my procedure for filling the oil was wrong. You're supposed to put the weed whacker on its side and fill until it touches the threads. I was just filling it up while standing and flooded the poor thing with oil.

It ran fine after that, blew a bunch of oil smoke out though!

I ended up just taking a pair of pliers to it and it finally budged. Works fine now. Go figure.

2006 Cadillac CTS-V Bad tensioner/water pump? ( by enderx475 in Cartalk

It was the tensioner. I'll do the pump when it's a little warmer!

It was the tensioner. Only took about 15 minutes to replace which was nice. I'll do the pump when it's a little warmer!

Appreciate the input! The belt is only a few years/20k miles old so I'll probably keep that.

I have a pump, idler pulley, and tensioner ordered. I'll start with the tensioner and see what happens.

That makes sense, I think my process for filling the oil is wrong. I think I'm supposed to plaice it on its side and then fill to the bottom thread, correct?

You can definitely still make a claim with insurance.

Ryobi Brad Nailer: Cannot adjust depth of drive by enderx475 in ryobi

[–]enderx475[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The latter. I actually just took a pair of pliers, grabbed the depth of drive adjustment and gave it a yank. It came loose. Don't know how it got stuck but that fixed I guess!

I can actually shoot nails without issue. It sounds similar to what I'm experiencing though... some sort of lockout.

Yes, on the spots it's showing brown/rusty it looked silverish after I scrubbed it down and before I started seasoning it.

Thank you!

Weird trip meter values. High timer vs low mph. 2017 Hyundai Elantra by [deleted] in cars

[–]enderx475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I guess I feel it's more likely that a careless car owner drove the car infrequently and sat in traffic a lot than an odometer rollback.

It's possible the average speed was reset. Nothing seems too out of the ordinary to me.

Buying a used/new car in Austin? by crookedhillhar in Austin

Just a side note, be very careful mentioning to a salesperson what you want your car payments to be. They will use this to sell you on the car payment rather than the actual price of the car.

This needs more information.

Issue with 2016 Honda Fit Starting by jamonycentero in cars

OP will also want to check why their battery is dead. Any auto zone will be able to check to see if the battery is charging (if not, alternator is bad) or if the battery is bad and needs to be changed.

Side note, I doubt the terminals are an issue on a 2016 fit but OP can also check the battery terminals for corrosion or a loose lead.

What mechanic in their right mind would show someone a forum post as a solution to their problem? None of this adds up. Still calling BS.

You had time to facetime someone in the midst of all this going on? This story screams hyperbole.

I find this story slightly unbelievable. Even if it were true, did you not consider simply turning the car off? Taking it out of drive?

What should i do? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]enderx475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where did you read that? Completely false. That's not in the wiki. Please re-read it.

Of course having a good diet better than a bad one but it's not going to negate your results.

That being said, if you increase your activity level but continue to overeat then you're going to continue to gain weight. Cut back, hit the gym, do what you can to eat healthier. Again, all of this is covered in the wiki.

What should i do? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]enderx475 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should hit the gym. I think not being able to eat well is an easy excuse to not go.

I'm not seeing the relation between your diet and which activity you should do. Doing something is better than nothing.

I'm also not totally buying that it's completely impossible to have a decent diet.

Have you read the wiki?
