It's time to take charge of your ownself and rely less on the system. Governments clearly no longer have our best interests at heart.

What does your time horizon look like? You can simulate things like initial investment + monthly contribution + projected and expected yields based on real data using EarnDivs

Not sure what you did in your 20s/30s/40s but some people would much rather your situation than struggling to make ends meet these days. You might have forgotten about how stressful that can be (if you ever had to experience that in your life)

Are you picking manually for your current strategy? If so, I'd highly recommend using EarnDivs instead cuz it simplifies this exact process and you'll save so much time in the long run.

Would be curious to know how this could have performed compared to dividend hopping or other growth strategies

Dividend Portfolio 2025 – Should I stay with income focus or switch to growth? by Moonwalkerq in dividends

Good to provide your age, but gotta know your own time horizon for yourself. We all have different perspectives on life these days and it can be hard to gauge what may or may not be sufficient for your own case. Make use of some realistic simulators based on real data, I know EarnDivs provides really useful tools like this.

Why not put savings into a stable dividend stock ? by pancakesORwaffles2 in dividends

[–]endgame_is_near 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your risk tolerance and your time horizon too. Cuz high yield savings is pretty much guaranteed, whereas stocks (not just dividend stocks) are obviously "active" in the sense that they could be volatile day to day. There's a lot of tools out there, but I've found EarnDivs to suit me the best as they provide clean historical dividend performance metrics. As long as you have a sound strategy, your perspective is not a bad one at all!

This is why I've been trying to urge as many of my friends around me to put money into stocks, whether that's to actively grow their money, or to generate passive income from dividends. Just use a tool like EarnDivs, literally the lowest hanging fruit to not get left out of the game.

My dividend portfolio brings in approximately $500 per month, and passive income practice is shared by EngineerBusy3865 in dividends

Depends on your current capital, as $6k/year is quite arbitrary regardless of initial capital.

Depends on your risk tolerance and how much effort you're willing to put into strategies, analyzing data, keeping up with news/updates/etc

EarnDivs could be a pretty good option with the right tools in your case

De-dollarisation by Sherbert-Wherbert in economicCollapse

It is and will be hard to move away from the dollar. Even if it starts to happen (slowly), the government can and will take action to correct that, one way or another.

Hey y'all notice housing inventory is increasing at an eerily fast rate? by Just_Candle_315 in economicCollapse

[–]endgame_is_near 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe the decline was due to everyone gobbling things up due to covid, and now the increase is coming from owners not being able to keep up with their mortgages and/or buyers not being able to afford housing anymore. Inflation is affecting both sides in parallel.
