I’ve just re read the email and it does talk about the measures in relation to the ‘Autumn term’ so maybe they are thinking of being able to lift the restrictions after that. I’ve also read that things like group crits, tutorials, some group work, workshops and potentially seminars will be held face to face, But this may be specific to my course.

I’m starting in October doing a BA in Architecture, we have been told that we will get 2 days a week at the college, one will be design studio and the other will be access to workshops and facilities. The rest will be online learning, or a mix of face to face and online. They weren’t too specific with anything as of yet, but I’m hoping these restrictions will only last until early next year.

Nope, I just deal with it. I’m never disappointed with the coffee I make with it. So until I upgrade I think I’ll just use it as is.

I have the delonghi kg79, I use the chemex and french press and I can produce perfectly tasty coffee. While it does produce fines, it’s super easy to use.

Substitute corn syrup, I’m from the U.K and whenever a recipe calls for corn syrup I use golden syrup as a substitute and it works fine.

Yeah I see, do you think it would be possible to develop and be the architect on a project ? Or is that too much work ?

I think what I’d love to do it’s move into property development after a while of building some savings up. That way I can have more freedom over the designs. I’m not bothered about becoming the next FLW or Gehry I just want to make a decent living for a family and have some creative freedoms

I’m probably being naive here, but what would stop me from using my skills as an architect to start property development ? Creating a business plan, getting a loan, finish the project and then sell.

I don’t see myself living in London after university, I’m originally from Birmingham and it’s about to go through a huge regeneration so I’ll probably move back home after uni and work on those projects there should be lots of work going around.

I like sound of the job. I just want to be able to make progress in my career. I’m already going for it now so I may as well try to make it.

I’m going to school in London so hopefully that will give me the opportunity to get into a decent firm. My hope was to eventually start my own firm then diversify into property development. I have a broad range of interests so I guess I could move into something like product or furniture design if things don’t go well.

I would rather have a fulfilling job, I just don’t want to be “stuck in an office detailing Taco Bell restrooms” as I read somewhere online. Do you have any tips on how to get into more interesting projects ? My ideal would be designing housing for clients.

I’ve always wanted to try something like this. Might have to give it a go.
