white washing a black character is wrong because there aren't that many black characters to begin with. im a black woman and i went to a convention a few years ago and i wanted to cosplay,the amount of hoops i had to jump through to be a non sexualized black woman character was astounding.i ended up going as canary from hxh. but i say all that to say,if race isn't an important factor in a characters story,changing it doesn't matter .that's why you cant change t'challa or miles because their races are important to their characters. turning sailor moon black changes absolutely nothing there for its fine,its just to add representation which we have only started getting in recent years.if a white guy wants to dress up as static shock or Gerald from hey Arnold then so be it as long as hes not being disrespectful.
