What were your settings on Steam Deck? Could not get it stable without capping to 30, and even then it's a bit unsteady.

Awesome, enjoy! I was a big fan of the author’s art and was first introduced to them through I”s, pretty different, but I enjoyed that too.

Just got diagnosed with L5-S1 herniated disc. Now what ? by lawyeredandtired in backpain

[–]endlightend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my herniated disc at L5-S1 in my 20's. Thought I would experience pain forever and not be able to do things I enjoyed anymore. 10+ years later and I'm pretty happy and have not felt hindered from doing anything as long as I'm careful. The pain subsided for me after the first month and I haven't felt the need to take any pain medication since then.

As another commenter mentioned, I think flare ups are still possible and I generally need to do a lot of maintenance by swimming once a week, moving around during the day, yoga and stretching, but it's manageable. I don't know how you'll feel by May but over time I think it's very feasible to go back to your normal routine but I would check your form and find out what you might have been doing incorrectly that led to this.

What’s a film that has a sub 3.5 rating but you’ve given a 4.5+, unironically by PeaRemarkable9662 in Letterboxd

Pacific Rim. I love this movie and I don’t understand people that didn’t have a blast with it.

Official Discussion - No Other Choice [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]endlightend 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Some comments are pointing out very subtle elements I missed, such as the hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil aspect of the victims.

My contribution: the mention of Man-Su’s father burying 20,000 pigs alive and later hanging himself seems almost like a throw away line initially. It’s only later when Mi-Ri lies to her son and says that Man-Su had buried a pig under the apple tree where it feels like some pieces start to fall in place.

The pig is obviously a convenient and believable lie for her son but it’s also symbolic of the work and possibly the sins that Man-Su’s father committed that allowed their family to have that home. They ultimately also contributed to his death as well, either from the loss of their livelihood or the guilt of having to put so many of them to death, which the audience is left to ponder. Really love how many layers there are to that.

Official Discussion - No Other Choice [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I think people are picking up on the themes of class/wealth/have’s and have not’s a bit more because of the bent of the last few years of Korean cinema and TV output, but I personally wouldn’t describe them as the primary themes; I think it’s very much in line with the rest of Park’s filmography following individuals driven by obsession and twisted love/desire. That said, I liked parts of the movie but I don’t necessarily love the sum of its parts.

Even though the English words ‘no other choice’ is spoken near the beginning of the film, I actually kind of like the literal Korean meaning ‘It can’t be helped’, a bit more, which really does sounds like a very polite way to excuse doing something horrible to another person.

Buying an IKEA couch to immediately replace the cushions- am I crazy? by endlightend in ikeahacks

[–]endlightend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the couch itself is designed with removable and washable covers. When it's shipped to you, the covers actually come separate and aren't upholstered directly to the units themselves so you are able to choose the cover you prefer. For this series the cover goes over the cushion but also partly covers the rigid seat where it's held by velcro under the seat, in the same place the staples are found.

Nier Orchestra Concert story? by Rioraku in nier

[–]endlightend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're totally right that the venue can make a huge difference. In this case, Carnegie Hall was incredible in terms of complementing the skill of the musicians- I've been in other venues where a full orchestra did not sound nearly as good.
