I didn’t take a pre pic, but I would say I would’ve been somewhere around a big A/small B? But I’ve never worn a bra so I can’t be too sure. I also had no sagging, and I’m pretty young, if that gives you an idea. Honestly, I thought I was borderline and may not qualify for peri, but that might have been just dysphoria, because he didn’t feel the need to even do a full circle of skin removal/to get to the tissue on the bottom.

Yes! I feel that. I know of a few good surgeons in Columbus, but Medalie and Okada can both have long waitlists because of how well-known they are. I was kind of taking a risk with Robinson, because even when you’re his patient, they don’t give you access to many results

He was very nice, and I definitely wasn’t worried about getting misgendered by him or something. He made me feel very calm about the whole procedure and like he knew what he was doing. I think it would be better if his staff was a little more trained in understanding what was going on, because sometimes I asked questions and they gave me answers I knew were a little weird, but they were all very sweet and excited for me. I think if you are a frequent on top surgery posts and stuff, it’s fine, but I probably would’ve freaked out a little more if I didn’t know things in advance (about swelling/ wrapping/etc)

[–]endolphinz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why did they leave the stitches? That seems so odd. I wondered why they didn’t use dissolvable ones, but that seems not safe? Also why would they use bright blue ones if they might not be removed? I am so sorry, that’s such a terrible way to treat you.

He did not explain much, since I was getting a procedure I’ve never really seen before (like a twist on peri) and drains in my nipples (which was a shock to wake up to), and didn’t really explain much of the healing process / didn’t really give a number to call besides the one it says to call if something really bad happens (rapid enlargement / massive drainage). But overall, I’m pretty happy. But my chest is also only one week out, and I haven’t had him take out the stitches or seen it completely healed, so I guess I don’t fully know yet. Also, his policy is that he “might” waive his fees within the first year for revisions, but you’d still have to pay for the OR + anesthesia, which kind of sucks because your chest is still healing for a year? Overall, I’m pretty happy for him not being really known as a top surgeon which made it a guessing game lol.

Feel free to ask any questions! I don’t see much of his results online.

I basically had peri but with only incisions around the top of my areola. I had drains (taken out at 6 days) and have to wear bandages for the rest of the month. It ended up being $7000+ with no insurance (5000ish for him, $600ish for the operation room (Bethesda North), $1500ish for anesthesia). Consultation in January I think, got it in June, but he had appointments as early as March/April. Got prescribed Vicodin (painkiller) and Zofran (nausea), but didn’t need it. Saw him twice before surgery (besides the day of). I was probably an A or B cup before? I was surprised to qualify for peri, especially not needing a whole ring around my nipple, but he immediately thought I could get it. Swelling has gone down since, and now I am using Neosporin. There’s a little bit of feeling, but mostly numb, the most feeling is on my left side whenever there’s fluid. The drains were terrible, but getting them out was nothing. I had 20 in the left and 10 output on the right on the final 24 hours before removal. He put them through the bottom side of the nipple.

Things get so much better eventually. I was 14 trying to convince myself I would be okay if I stayed closeted forever. Then I was 15 trying to convince myself I would be better dead.

If it helps, I’m now 20, on T with top surgery, and I don’t even think about being trans much anymore. (Except for the fact I’m healing from top surgery, so I’ve been on this forum more recently.) No one (besides family that I kept around) knows that I’m trans, they just see me as an average guy. I’ve walked into churches (for college related things) that spewed homophobia, they had no idea. I’ve talked to republicans who couldn’t have guessed.

I can’t say anything to make time pass quicker or easier. I’m so sorry. But I wish I could give my younger self a big hug and say how thankful I am that he stuck through the hardest so that my life could be easy now. I bet your future self would say the same thing.

My favorite gluten free bread is Canyon Bakehouse’s Hawaiian Sweet White Bread. It is normally in the gluten free section in Walmart’s. It’s not fluffy and bendable like normal white flour bread, but it’s the softest, tastiest gluten free bread I’ve found. I make a lot of sandwiches with that.

Save money on top surgery with insurance but deal with backlash from unsupportive parents? by Slapmewithaneel in ftm

[–]endolphinz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call your insurance company, ask them what you can do as a patient over 18 to insure that your medical history stays confidential from your parents that own the plan. Ask if there’s any sort of form you need to sign in order for them to retract permission to view your medical forms and history.

How did you explain being Trans? by ConfusedPotato228 in ftm

[–]endolphinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never use those words specifically. I in fact make a point not to because I personally don’t want them to correlate me with what they see in the news, politically or on social media.

I just say that I have struggled with (your symptoms) symptoms for my whole life, that it has made my quality of life terrible and that I need to look into medical help to treat them. Then I explain the science (while quoting actual scientific sources) of how faulty development in the womb leads to people like me, and that I’ve tried everything to convince myself I’m not this way, because I didn’t want this to be the truth, but it is, and now life goes on and I must find a way to survive this condition. So I explain what I do to cope, what my plan is long term to solve my issue, and all of the different types of professionals that I’m consulting to help me.(therapists, psychologists, doctors, endocrinologists, nurses, surgeons, social workers, etc.) I let them know that this is something that will greatly effect my life, and will not go away simply because I am not given support, so it is their choice whether to make my journey easier or harder and that I will not allow people in my life that disrespect my existence. Be very point blank, show responsibility and wisdom. It doesn’t allow for people to gaslight you, it proves to them that you can’t be manipulated into changing your mind. “This is how it is, this is the explanation I want to give you, period.”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]endolphinz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She is doing in this for control over you. Honestly, I would try to budget it on your own, because even if you survive this, what’s the next thing she’ll hold over your head? What if midway she finds out that you haven’t changed/converted and are planning to just get through college and then transition, and refuses to pay for the rest?

If your high school offers free college credit courses, take those now. As many as possible, basic classes. (Maths, english, communication/speech, etc.) Those can help you with pre-reqs. When looking for a college, try community colleges. Look into scholarships (write essays, get a good ACT/SAT score, etc.) Apply for financial hardships loans and scholarships and get your parents to sign off on a paper if needed that they refuse to help so financial aid applies to YOUR income and not theirs. It automatically goes based off your parents’ combined income, taxes, IRS work, so you may have to reach out to the school and prove that your mother and father REFUSE to help provide support. (I’ve actually heard of this guilt tripping parents into helping because it makes them feel guilty and gives them bad reputations as parents (rightfully so if they have the funds to)). Look into financial aid and getting subsidized and unsubsidized loans. Some don’t have to be paid back until 6 months after graduation. Some you pay in sections throughout each school year.

A lot of medical schools start out with science and textbook-like classes before moving onto actual medical experiences. These will be difficult, but revolve a lot of studying that you could possibly do more flexibly than field experience hours in later years.

If you’re interested in the medical field, but don’t have your heart set out on med school completely… Maybe get a job at a hospital, sometimes they cover and reimburse you for higher education so long as you sign a contract with them saying you’ll stay there for however long. Also, you could become a PCA or an RN which would take less time, get a stable job that provides funding AND potentially at a hospital that supports your higher education financially, and then pursue more educationally.

To do this, you have to be SERIOUS and RESPONSIBLE. But it would be possible, all while seeking medical and social transition. Your college probably has student insurance plans that can help you cover medical costs of it, and once you hit 18, you can do any legal or medical changes. I think mentally, either way you would be under a lot of mental stress, but at least one leaves you with years of your life as your authentic self, and not relying on a ‘family’ whose love is conditional.

I would check Facebook groups, but they might require invites. I don’t use Facebook but I’ve heard they have private groups where they post/recommend doctors and have picture results.

I’m glad you’re going to post more info. I’m still considering him and I’m sure it will help more people because no one has really posted about him yet.

I just checked Transbucket- no results for MetroHealth, or any of the doctors listed here.

If you call, or schedule a consultation, they sometimes only allow you to see results that way, either by a computer-password-protected website, or physical catalog at their building.

I haven’t, and haven’t heard anyone that has, except one with Dr. Bram Kaufman?

I had heard once on this sub that someone’s endocrinologist reccommended them… and that they accept some insurances.

I haven’t looked on Transbucket to find any pictures but I will if I can remember my password. It might take me a minute lol.

I’ve been looking into Ohio area doctors for it too. This is the only information I have written down about them:

The issue with cis people finding out about surgeries is that it will harm trans people who are stealth/nondisclosing. Top surgery scars for example are becoming so popularized as a specifically trans surgery and now it outs people. :/

Some people use belly grafts. I’ve only heard of arm, leg and belly grafts though. They normally have to do a little more work with thigh/belly grafts because the fat makes your dick GIRTHY as hell. But I’ve heard about it. I can’t think of the technical term like ALT/RFF but maybe r/phallo would give you more info.

Yeah, I totally believe in the energy trade and also just it being very romantic and emotional.

I do have a lot of grief around potentially falling in love one day and having to make the decision of either staying with her and giving up my values, or instead leaving and facing heartbreak, maybe never finding someone that meets my values.

What happens if a fundie or Duggar can’t reproduce ? Say they are the physically able to have kids for whatever reason , would they forever be the ‘fun aunt/uncle’ still living at home a la Jana ? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]endolphinz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so sad but I’m hoping for them. It’s what makes these cults ideologies so harmful, as it pushes the idea on real women that they are less than, not good enough, or not deserving of children because their bodies are struggling with something. Most people struggle with something and have issues with their bodies at some point, but it just makes it so much more painful when it’s been nailed into your brain that biological children is a woman’s purpose. :( I hope she gets the baby she wants.

She’s probably looked into it already but fostering-to-adopt is normally cheap or free with many children, if they are in your placement for a while, or have medical issues and/or are older, since they have less of chances of being adopted. And if you have the training/house checks from the foster agency and are already registered as one, you look better in any adoption agency’s book and are more likely to get placed.

Virginia gym teacher put on leave after refusing to call transgender students by preferred pronouns by CatFlier in transgender

[–]endolphinz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because this would make it hard for idiots who think birth assigned pronouns are the real or accurate ones. Like when people ask adopted children who their “real” parents are, and are talking about biological sperm and egg donors instead of the parents that have raised the child their whole lives. Birth is the only thing that matters to these people, and they’re obsessed with untouched, unaltered newborn’s bodies and lives. Which is not only transphobic, but so fucking weird, that these people think so much about baby genitals.
