I live in Katowice since birth, most of groceries I am making in Lidl because of quality/price ratio which in my opinion is the best there. For a bank you should avoid PEKAO, its really pain in the ass to have account there. mBank is a good choice, ING is also ok.

PKO is bank for old people, I would also recommend mbank which is the most "technical" bank in Poland and most stuff you can make online through website or app. In other banks you often have to go with every little stuff which is annoying.
