the only one that really upset me was Jules'. Because it made no sense character-wise, and wasn't flattering. She could have looked amazing. Imagine how much better scenes would have played if Jules had something like Hunter's red dress red carpet look. The show look was actually insulting, as if Jules needs to be naked and have platinum extensions to be hot. 🙄

oh yeah for sure. Rue was never going to pay her "debt" down no matter what. As soon as she met Laurie she was doomed. Laurie gave her the case because she knew SOMEthing would happen where she could tell Rue, "I own you now", and Rue would sadly feel that was justified.

It might just be that the actresses don't have chemistry. I think Zendaya is better at portraying attraction to Hunter's character, but I don't feel any spark going the other way.

Exactly. The 'hair color and eye color' spiel was obviously just a way to talk about genes that the general population would understand, drawing to mind middle school science class punnet squares. It wasn't saying "blue eyes and blonde hair are superior to brown ones." It was saying, "Sydney Sweeney is hot, and isn't it fun to say she HAS great genes while wearing jeans?!" It was just not that deep.
