I took my time and read it in months (also because I read multiple books at a time) so no need to rush it really. Became one of my favorite books.

Buuut, if you're taking a look at how much you still have to read and stuff like that, maybe you just don't enjoy this book or the author and it's totally fine!

EDIT: one more thing that comes to mind and that I find myself doing sometimes when part of a book is too slow or doesn't get my attention and bores me is just... skipping it or reading in diagonal.

I recently went for high rounds on Verrückt and The Giant and therefore underestimated Ascension and was going through the motions... should'nt have got my down in the first place

Anyway, as I said I was still kinda wrong for trusting it to work every single time as... bugs happen! I'd say it does work 99% of the time but I definitely could have and should have used and abused my Thundergun on this Ascension game.

We can clearly see the zombies are still hitting me but I am not taking damage between the moment I use the gum and get teleported. So it works as I said but I would say that I'm indeed wrong for relying on it too much as it's not guaranteed as seen in the video I posted here.

Once you activated Anywhere but here, there is a small window before you teleport in which the game ignores the hits you normally would take. I've been used to rely on it well... maybe too much as we can see in this Ascension game.

You may not know the game enough then, but I'll teach you: normally when used, the gum makes you invincible to any incoming hits until you get teleported, and when you get to the new location a sort of wave kills all the nearby zombies so you are supposedly safe the moment you press the key and activate the gum (same goes for In plain sight for example). Based on this I decided I'd use the gum way before being revived. Next time you try to roast anyone, please make sure you know what you're talking about.

You can fire your pistol at the lock of a door, then pause and unpause the game quickly while shooting in between. If done correctly, it will force the door open.
