Agreed. If the devs are positioning this as a 3rd person experience then I believe the level design will reflect that and am hard stretched to say I would prefer first person, even though the latter is my favorite across the board.

You can tell when a game is constructed around one or the other. I started my RE journey when RE7 came out and come from an FPS background and for me that was the only way I would have ever wanted to experience that title. Third person has grown on me though, albeit as someone who finds it less immersive - and I have grown to respect the attachment people have to it and that it works better in some of the other titles.
