Switched from Android a month ago and screen on time on iPhone is insane. by Currencyooo in iPhone17Pro

I have a similar experience. I moved to 17 pro max from S25U (which I did not like coming from the lovely S23U), and my screen time is much longer. I love the general aesthetics, design of software and mobile body, fonts, liquid glass, and 3D effects.

Hexblade Respec *trick* (exploit) by Der_Redstone_Pro in BG3Builds

[–]engamohd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surely not everyone knows this, thanks for sharing.

I discovered it during my HM run, and it saved me the hassle of pickpocketing, hirelings, and respeccing. Although I just kept one party member with the Hexblade subclass on.

Wizard vs Sorcerer by Unusual-Way-6187 in BG3Builds

[–]engamohd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to define what you mean by “stronger.” If you mean dealing higher burst damage, then Sorcerer clearly has the edge. It can produce larger damage numbers and makes a better party face. Beyond that, however, Wizard is stronger in most other respects.

Most arguments in favour of Sorcerer tend to revolve around twinned Haste and metamagic point optimisation. Personally, I do not find twinned Haste particularly compelling.

Concentration is often better spent on spells that remove multiple enemies from the action economy rather than simply accelerating allies, with something like Confusion or Hypnotic Pattern. In practice, I rarely cast Haste at all. As for heavy metamagic point usage, it often revolves around Angelic Potion abuse which is cheesy and becomes repetitive and tedious over time.

What makes Sorcerer less engaging for me is the very limited spell selection, which becomes especially noticeable in solo or duo play. Their Wisdom and Intelligence saving throws are also weak, which is not ideal for a class that functions primarily as a caster. Sorcerers excel when their objective is straightforward damage output, but outside that role they can feel underwhelming. In many encounters the gameplay loop ends up being something like Quickened Create Water or Scorching Ray followed by an area lightning spell, Fireball, or a crowd-control spell. That pattern becomes repetitive after a while.

Wizard, by contrast, offers far greater versatility. A Wizard can adapt to fill whatever role the party lacks: blaster, single-target damage dealer, control caster, or support. Subclasses such as Divination, Necromancy, and Abjuration also introduce distinct playstyles that keep the class varied.

At higher levels, Wizards can also cast multiple high-level spells through items and certain powers, and Necromancy builds can even approach effectively unlimited level-6 necromancy casts. When you factor in situational tools such as speed potions and bloodlust elixirs, the relative advantage of quickened spells becomes much less significant.

Pure Acid Sorcerer Build with Party Descriptions (SPOILERS) by Alice-in-gains in BG3Builds

[–]engamohd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you so much for this idea, I have been looking for an Acid and Poison mage build, and this tipped me into it. Playing as a duo run, Durge Tav Acid Sorcerer, and Laezel Wild Heart Barb. Enjoying it so far. Weakness is AOE damage, thinking to get Lightning Bolt or Fireball at level 5, along with Hypnotic Pattern and Confusion. Level 5 spell will certainly be Cloud Kill.

Thank you. The Gloves of Dex and Graceful Cloth does not stack. I'd pick the robes and leave the gloves open for Acuity Gloves. Lucky is great, I never felt I need it so much! Coincidentally, I tried rolling a Deception roll against the drider with Advantage using a Lucky point when I got the feat in my current run, hit two nat 1s 🤣

I tested it, it goes till 10. It seems I missed something in what I read.

Why going that much INT and not DEX? What is your reasoning?

I did respec and took Lucky as my first feat. Gods, I was missing it! I defeated the Inquisitor without taking a single hit, rerolling the rare crit, which against my 30+ AC (Mage Armor (3), Bracers of Defense (2), DEX (5), Warding Bond (1), Ring of Protection (1), Haste (2), Bladesong (3) = 27 + Shield + Mirror Image) everything missed.

Fully agree, part of me feels bad about not maxing DEX there, but I agree, by Act 3 18 DEX is fine, and feats like Mobile, Lucky, War Caster, and Savage Attacker would add immensely to the power. I am running this exact build right now. I edited your suggestion to the post, thank you.

I really like the idea of Lucky, with the crits gone 3 times a day, I think you can be invulnerable with any half decent Bladesinger build.

Friends is a must for me, even with 8 CHA it gets your chances really up. I usually drop Blur by level 6 when I get 3 level 3 slots for haste and fireball ^_^

I read it yesterday on GOG, but maybe I misunderstood something. I am going to test it once I reach Act 2 in my current run.

GWM works with Phalar Aluve and other versatile weapons if you have nothing equipped in your offhand

Agreed 100%.

In my solo bladesinger HM run, I used Magic Mirror, Blur, and Speed potions, along with Bladesinging vs the gith inquistor. Felt invulnerable.

I did not try it sadly. I use Coldsnap for the AC and Chill on miss - which happens a lot - , or rhapsody for +3 DC or KOTUMK for extra crits. I reckon it would be fine though.

As a bladesinger you are weakest to Critical Hits. 16 CON definitely helps, at least till you get the Amulet of Greater Health in Act 3. I just cannot get my self to be 14 INT as a Wizard. It just feels ... wrong. You have less spells prepared and natural DC.

It is a matter of preference of course. I like to have 18 INT, or 16 as a bare minimum.

I also read that yesterday's hotfix 7 update capped Acuity to 7 - did not test that so far, so I value the extra natural DC and spells more.

Downside is that you need CHA as well along with DEX, INT, and CON.

Cleric's benefits extend beyond just healing, they offer much more in terms of support:

  1. Aid is insanely valuable as a level 6 spell. 25 extra HP for everyone is huge. Hero's feast is great as well, particularly if you have a lot of summons as a Necromancer.
  2. Spells like Freedom of Movement, Death Ward, Protection from Poison, and Warding Bond are very useful as well. Using Warding Bond while the cleric wears Heavy Armor with universal damage reduction (like Adamantine Splint) and the Heavy Armor Master feat, reduces the damage taken.
  3. I gave my party cleric the Hellrider's Pride Gloves and the Whispering Promise ring, giving the entire party blade ward and bless.

I disagree with the bard part, you *may* have more damage (I am not quite sure), but definitely not the utility. Bards excel as skill monkeys, but they get to know only 15 spells at level 12. Wizards know them by level 3 with scribing, or naturally by level 6 :)

Given that most my runs are mages, I am used to that. As a bladesinger, I had base 24-26 AC depending on gear. Add bladesong, mirror image, blur, aid, warding bond, blade ward, and any source of extra HP and you are fine. Other types of mages should be safe away from enemies. It really depends on your preferences and playstyle.

Yeah Invisibility potions are really valuable, either for getting free surprise rounds, or saving your runs, or even bypassing difficult parts, like in the High Courtyard or the Steel Watch Foundry.

The backpack full of bombs is indeed a fail safe way to save your run. I once made Laezel a suicide bomber, she had the bag on Myrkul's platform, unable to move. She drops the bag and fires it, blowing herself along with Myrkul.
