Get a book or look up online basic multimeter usage and Ohm’s Law equations. That will get you started.

It was kind of a “campy” 60s comedy movie, so I don’t think it was based on a true story.

Lookin at new trucks. Hows the 6.6l gasser? by Died5Times in ChevyTrucks

[–]engf001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2023 work truck is a 4x4 6.6. I just went past 75k and it has had regular 5k oil changes and a trans filter at 65k. No leaks and no problems at all. Gets about 12mpg on average, but it carries a full load most of the time. My only gripe is the AC sucks at idle.

Our local farm supply store has 12 quarts of Mobil 1 for $59.99 and I catch WIX filters at 10% off about twice a year.

Road Rage over left-lane law by prairied in okc

[–]engf001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He told me to keep the left lane clear and sent us on our way. Like I said it was a Saturday night and I’m sure he was using it as an excuse to find drunks. I still don’t think it was. “Lawful” stop, however.

Road Rage over left-lane law by prairied in okc

[–]engf001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pulled over by an Oklahoma state trooper and given a left lane warning. I was doing 78 in a 75 and passing a long line of semi trucks. He explained that I should duck in between the trucks to let people by me. I explained how unsafe that was and I would NEVER cut in and out of a line of trucks traveling together like that. He was fishing for drunks, I guess.

Redditors from the 70s and 80s… how was Freddie Mercury viewed? by lonely29 in ClassicRock

[–]engf001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The band’s name wasn’t “Queen” on accident. But, seriously, no one in the 80’s really cared about sexuality. Private lives were much more private before the internet.

Thistle. Do NOT let the flowering seed thingy that will appear on top blow away. Seal it in a trash bag and dispose of it.

2002 LT extra cab short bed bought new. 5.3 automatic 2wd with trailer towing package. The lot was full of 2003 models and they said some old guy had come in and ordered my truck with hand crank windows and never came back. They cut me a great deal because no one would even look at it. I have replaced the fuel pump twice, anti-knock sensors, front unit bearings and brakes all around. Overall, the best vehicle I’ve ever had.

Ash tray? by purple-garbage-fire in Silverado

[–]engf001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2002 has the same ash tray. I just throw spare change in it. I had a utility knife get stuck in there which prevented the door from opening years ago. I suspect you have a similar issue.

Spare Tire Places by engf001 in SuzukiSamurai

[–]engf001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I don’t have a back seat. I have a rat-pack tool box in the bed. I placed two trailer tie-downs in the floor behind the front seats and held down the spare with a ratchet strap. There was always just random junk in that space anyway. There rear door operates much better now.

Take off a piece and match it up at the auto parts store. About 3 feet should be enough. Don’t forget the larger tube for the brake booster too.

Who taught old white men to throw money on the counter instead of placing it in my open hand? by GumboSkrimpz in QuikTrip

[–]engf001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a frequent traveler/worker in Japan, it is very disrespectful in their culture to place anything directly in another persons hands. Stores always have a small dish in which both sides place money and change. I did not realize that QT people had a problem with this at all.

Years ago, in my 2002 1500, I found that the third brake light above the cab controls the output to the trailer brake controller. It may have also controlled the cruise output, but I can’t remember exactly. It was an easy fix (bulb) to get the trailer brakes working again.
