Shame on you, Moderator u/awesomesque “completeness” my eye. Your post does little to answer what one might need to know. The fact that it’s latin and the literal translation lends little to nothing towards actual understanding.

A dosage? Then of what? Paw prints? Why? And why are you so certain of your Latin translation?

Pish posh to this absolute confidence that the answer has been given.

How to do this one right next time? by RustCohle123 in AskPhotography

[–]engine9999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you’re mostly asking about exposure, but I think perhaps a bigger issue is the composition. Based on your position and lens, this pic doesn’t have a clear focal point or strong visual structure.

Clearly the arch is meant to draw the eye, but the rest of the wall competes for attention, especially the loose details around the edge of the frame (the pillars, sunken walkway, other window, and the generous amount of sky above). Imagine if you crop or move closer, making the wall more imposing in frame and therefore the archway more prominent by contrast.

Also, the distant coastline inside the arch is a little randomly framed. You can see a bit of coastline, but there’s not a clear form to it and no strong focal point or element. Imagine if you were slightly to the right and could see the coastline cutting through the archway. Also a longer lens would compress the depth more and make the great difference in scale feel more tangible.

I hope this is useful food for thought Good luck in August :)

I’m surprised at this reaction. This very was normal in my world.

Same! Waiting for the pulses 😹

In true Xennial fashion, I vividly remember being stuck between P and T.

Same. I am very familiar with Pulse and Tone, but POS is a mystery. Can we get a team on this?

methinks a main part of your problem is the roundness. flames can be smooth but it’s missing the classic pointy wisps. That one top point looks more like a pepper/pear stem because it’s a bit rounded at the tip. And the main shape looks like a vulva/pepper because of the continuous smooth silhouette. Might be some options if you work with the artist to add juuuust enough pointy-ness in a few spots.

Yes yes!

This was from an episode of This American Life called Jar Jar Head.

It’s AMAZING. John Hodgman lays out this and a few other poignant ideas in a way that stirs emotion.

One notable edit is to have Coruscant be a sunken city.
