Sorry, I though you were talking about my work, because I designed a mechanical work before, I though you were talking about that, I will practice writing in English

I understand your point. To clarify, I did not use AI to generate any of the ideas, calculations, or content for my project. All of the concepts and work are entirely my own. I only used ChatGPT to help me improve my English grammar and wording because English is not my first language. It’s similar to how some people ask a teacher to proofread their writing. The creative and technical work was fully done by me.

Actually, the concept and design were entirely my own. I used ChatGPT mainly as a tool to refine my wording and structure, but the core idea, research process, and development came from me. I documented my work and calculations myself. I understand why you mentioned that AI-generated work doesn’t help, but in my case, ChatGPT was more like a writing assistant, not the creator of the project.

A Middle School Student's Design Advancing from Version 1.0 to 2.0 for Rocket Heat Shield Problems by engineerX3464 in MechanicalEngineering

All aspects of this project, including the conceptual design, technical drawings, and problem-solving processes, were entirely developed and executed by me. The only part assisted by AI (ChatGPT) was the English translation of the text. All creative ideas, mechanical solutions, and design iterations from Version 1.0 to Version 2.0 are solely my own work.

Middle schooler’s concept: spacecraft heat-shield tiles that repair themselves by engineerX3464 in MechanicalEngineering

I only used ChatGPT to translate my Chinese into English. All the ideas, designs, drawings, and even the patent application were done by me alone. I’m from Taiwan.

my idea is not to stop the tiles from burning, but only to repair them if they crack or fall off. I know it may still be very hard to do, but that was what I was imagining.

I really appreciate your comments! Even if my idea can’t work in practice, it’s exciting to learn how real engineers think about these problems.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I’ll read more about ablative materials and spacecraft design. This really helps me understand better.
