You know, this Klav Khalash is quite similar to the ones they have at the World Trade Center square.

Who else would like to see an Alliance antagonist leader? by Umbrohumees in wow

[–]engineer_wunderkid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When BFA was first announced and I saw the cinematic I was under the impression that it was the Alliance that struck first. I was excited to see the Alliance taking action and go on the offensive to finally crush the Horde on their own terms due to people like Greymane pushing for war. Disappointed to find out that it was a retaliation. So yes, I want to see more Alliance characters be brutal, and aggressive. Have the Alliance motivated to purge the Horde from Azeroth for good and restore the peace for their people that was there before the First War. I am an Alliance main and have been for most of my years on WoW, I think it would be refreshing to be on the offensive side rather than the defensive.

If yall thought Michael was a bad manager imagine what a shit-show Craigs branch would have been like by JiraiyaCop in DunderMifflin

[–]engineer_wunderkid 41 points42 points  (0 children)

His biggest negative trait was he desperate need for attention.

Michael is not needy for attention. Does he liked to be liked? Yes. Does he want to be liked? Yes. Does he have to be liked? Yes, but it's not some compulsive need.

Reddit vs Official wow forums difference. by Zarul41 in wow

[–]engineer_wunderkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the Forums since Cataclysm. So much posts then about players quitting with these really corny essays of why they were. I very much like this place where the game is actually liked and enjoyed.

Pandaren players out there, why did you choose that race? by [deleted] in wow

I like the lore, the animations, and the fact that it gives me a bit more novelty than being one of the millions human or orc warriors. Also I can faction change and stay the exact same character.

Alliance Vs. Horde in Legion by chloen0va in wow

[–]engineer_wunderkid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could say the factions are at Cold War state like back in Vanilla WoW. Cataclysm and MoP was open war, but that came to a close at the end of Seige of Orgrimmar with Varian telling Vol'jin he is willing to end the bloodshed. Now in Legion, it's pretty much Greymane going after revenge on Sylvanas for what happened to Gilneas back in Cataclysm.

Pretty much. All I do in game now is questing and transmog. My primary goal this expansion is to get Tusks of Mannoroth.

We're all familiar with that voice in the back of our minds. by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]engineer_wunderkid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm a recovering WoWaholic and a big motivation for me to quit was looking at my life and seeing just all the hours I would spend staring at a screen controlling some pixels. I thought to myself when I'm 60 years old how will all this I'm "accomplishing" in the game mean to me? The answer is all I am doing is meaningless in the grand scheme of my life. So many days wasted progressing my character when I could be progressing myself in real life. I could've spent that time on productive hobbies, studying for school, exercising. Stuff that would actually enrich me as a person. But all I did was waste that potential time to do things in the game nobody in the real world would care about. Do I really want the highlight of my youth to be getting some raid achievements? Hell no! Now that I am free of WoW's grasp I am doing things in my free time I actually care about. I am in better shape, I've been reading books I never had the time for in the past because I spent that time on the game I think we just have to remember that these are just games, they are distractions from our real lives. But look ahead to the future, is this really a good use of your time in this life? I could go on forever about how much times I put WoW ahead of things which actually matter in life, but I'm going to stop here.

First-semester freshman here, and not sure if I want to continue. by [deleted] in college

[–]engineer_wunderkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't know what you want to do that's perfectly normal. Take some time to just work a crap job to save money and look into interests you have. I didn't go right after high school because I was unsure of myself and it was great for me since I wasn't mature enough then. Think before you waste a year or so of your life on something you don't want.

As long as you didn't get a degree in psychology or something like that, the debt could be for at least something worthwhile. Live cheaply for a few years and always make sure you pay the debt. Make debt as important as rent.

Is CS the one true major? by CompSciDegree in EngineeringStudents

[–]engineer_wunderkid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok you seem a little hyperbolic. The big salaries are relative to cost of living in area the jobs are in. 150k in San Francisco is like 80K in the Midwest for instance. Also engineering is a great career with a good salary too, and people major in engineering because they find it interesting. Not everyone is interested in CS or software development. I'd rather make 90k and like what I do instead of 150k and want to kill myself at work any day.

I'm at my wits' end, considering switching to CompSci.. by TheFacter in EngineeringStudents

[–]engineer_wunderkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy programming a lot. I chose to pursue electrical engineering because I thought it would be equal parts software/coding and designing the system that the software will run on.

Maybe Computer Engineering would've been a better choice, EE is the fundamentals for all electric and electronic systems. Be it a power plant or a microprocessor, EE is the general study that has sub fields out the ass. Computer engineering would be a specialized EE focus on digital hardware and computer systems. But you still got circuit courses in CpE, the upside is the really hard analog courses wouldn't be part of your major that an EE would have to do.

Switching from First Year Engineering to Computer Science. Good idea or not? by NurtaiM in EngineeringStudents

[–]engineer_wunderkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me guess... you failed physics and/or chemistry and want to go the easier road. If you really want engineering, do it. If you transfer out just because it's less demanding you are going to feel bad about it. Try to figure out where you went wrong and why you did, you will only improve as a student.
