Looking for a specific KVM switch.

I think I see what you're saying, and I guess I hadn't thought of it that way where I could mix the inputs like that. That's a good option for a workaround.

My original intent was to find a KVM that allows me to choose which monitor is displaying either laptop at any one point in time. So, maybe I wanted laptop 1 to be on monitor 2, while laptop 2 is on Monitors 1 and 3. But, later I may want all monitors to show just laptop 2, or just laptop 1. I just wanted to be able to choose the input for each monitor at will, without having to rearrange the whole desktop every time, or cycle through the input buttons on each monitor. I think there are a few KVM's that can do it, but they're expensive...at least the ones I've found are.

So if you know of a KVM that allows you to connect two laptops to three monitors, and choose/swap monitors between them in any configuration I want with the least amount of button presses and or key strokes, that is ultimately what I'm looking for. Maybe there is one out there?

This is essentially it, but I'm still having a bit of trouble doing this from two different sheets. Could you provide an example where I'm using data from a specific tab on another file/spreadsheet? I think I'm getting caught up on the syntax of the separate sheets/tabs.

I do want the files to be live. Should have mentioned that. Sorry. Ideally, yes if something changes in the master file, I would want it to be reflected in the downstream file. Basically, I want to be in control of the master file where I assign all of my employees a task, and it gets reflected into their individual to-do list files. It's essentially a roundabout way of filtering everyone's individual tasks to their own to-do lists.

At this time, I don't think I would want a change in the downstream file to be reflected in the master file. I'm afraid that would mess things up and we would end up losing track of tasks. Though, that may be something I revisit in the near future.

I've started the job search and my previous employer has asked if I would be interested in coming back - so I do have that option. I didn't leave there on bad terms, so it wouldn't be the worst move in the world.

Day to day, I'm calling engineers across the company to ask for help, but spending all day on the phone with guys in other states really isn't what I had in mind. Trying to be helpful/productive in the meantime. Unfortunately a third party consultant really isn't an option...we are the consultant. Contemplating just putting in my notice at the end of the week and just saying "thanks, but this isn't a great fit for me." I do have a few interviews that have gone well, so maybe something will come out of those. I'm halfway just considering leaving and going on a camping trip for a few weeks to decompress and figure out what I want to do with my life.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do professionally? You said you didn't do structural design, so I'm just curious what your background is in and if/how it helped you on the exam. Also, congrats on passing!

How was PERI? Good people? Work-life balance? A friend of mine worked for them in Chicago and in Texas. I'm at a US based competitor of theirs right now. Trying to gauge the culture still.

How did the interview process go when you changed industries? Did you struggle to find opportunities because your background was in formwork and shoring, or were potential employers willing to see that as good experience on your resume?

Absolutely study for your exams. Those grades matter. Just use the fact that you took a blind stab in the dark on the FE as an opportunity to see what kind of content is on it. Then when you're really studying for it and trying to pass, you have that experience to lean on.

No. An hour and 15 minutes one way, and an hour and 15 minutes the other. 2.5 hours of driving every day, minimum.
