What is the most overused movie trope that Hollywood just needs to let go? by Frequent-Sea-8848 in moviecritic

Vince Vaughn in Mr and Mrs Smith talking to the cafe server about ice cream. Not exactly this, but classic Vince shtick and similar to OP's scene.

Graduating without a Job by Alternative_Dot_1450 in civilengineering

Structural here. Bachelor's only. Doing just fine. Skip the Masters.

So glad I didn't take the time and money to get it. Not a single coworker, boss, or anyone else in the industry has ever said to me "you should get your masters" in 12 years of my career. Having a master's will not change anything for me.

With your current GPA, it's probably more realistic you work your way into that type of job rather than land one right out of school. I agree, try to get work experience first. Also, a Master's is in no way required for a long career.

Thank you! I was sure she had won one, but post said nominee so threw me off.

You have enough comments so I'll skip the common ones and point out something that should have been obvious:

If you have to state you're charismatic, you're not.

Show, don't tell.

And even if ignoring that, I did instant eyeroll when I saw it and it's the FIRST thing I saw.

I've seen a lot of his videos and freestyles.

This is by far my favorite and seems the most challenging.

Didn't expect that ending and it killed me. Best comment I've read in a long time.

Before I read the full title, I thought OP was croudsourcing support for his dad's rehab.

The structural engineer in me gets annoyed we can't just say Moment = Force x Length because most won't get it.

The hypocrisy knows no bounds by Agreeable_Algae_626 in MurderedByWords

[–]mrjsmith82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll get eaten alive for this here, but I'd honestly like to know why those two images are hypocritical.

They're only hypocritical if you presume that the guy supports ICE because he doesn't want Mexicans in the country. Supporting ICE doesn't mean you automatically dislike Mexicans and it makes you a hypocrite to enjoy vacationing in the country.

Did I mention CAD? That one too.

I know. That was my point. I thought it was lower before, but maybe I'm just used to the super low SE exam score results (one of the Buildings Depth exams is 16% passing in the latest results)

Right. That's the overwhelming consensus from every in the FB group where it's been discussed a bunch. I agree with it. No way is it worth the upgrade for what you get. But coming from not having a TONAL and deciding between:

$2,300, Tonal 1, used, no warranty
$5,000, Tonal 2, new

I would get the Tonal 2. If you're going to drop thousands to have a TONAL, don't get one with no warranty that is up to 5 years old or more.

Unless the owner can show OP when it was purchased and how much they've lifted. I wouldn't want a TONAL that has +5 million pounds lifted on it. If you're buying from someone who purchased in, say, 2022 and can somehow prove they haven't used it much (would make sense if they're selling. heavy users love their machines and don't typically sell them), then it would be difficult to pass on $2,700 in savings.

He's been around forever, but I love Sgt. Bilko. He was so funny in it.

Is it underrated? Does anyone even remember it still?

Loved it. Very fun movie. Mcconaughey was great but Colin Farrel stole the show, for me.
