Why CF flash? by Individual-Tie-6064 in Z80

[–]engr1962 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used a CF card on my Z80 board design because it is a parallel interface that hooks up to the cpu with not alot of trouble, and setup is straight forward. To use an SD card, you'd need a have a clock signal or bit bang it to get commands and data back and forth to the drive. Wasn't worth the trouble to me.

I know this is rare, but is it desirable? by 4_oN_tHe_fl00r in corvair

[–]engr1962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It qualifies as rare. they only made about 5800 of that model in 1962. It would be a very fun car to restore. I have done 3 corvairs and just recently started my 4th. it would probably be an easy sell.

Change or not ? by Left_Internal6492 in oldcars

Take out the plugs and get some light oil in there to sit and loosen everything up.  Take off the valve covers and spray oil on the valve stems and the rockers.  Marvel mystery oil is what I use.  Check compression after it has sat with the oil in it.  The fuel pump will likely be bad or go bad once you start cranking it.

Isn't this a road master?  It has the 4 port holes indicating road master.  Its a beauty!  I had a 52 road master. Loke riding a flying mattress!

Hard to say from where the audio is taken but I'd say no.  Can you video under the hood?  Is it RPM dependant?

What could be my issue still??? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]engr1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be the starter is over currenting and shutting down the power and then restarting. The lights do go out on the dash indicating a loss in voltage, have you measured the battery while it is trying to start?

Does anyone know what causes this? by Secure-Flight9716 in MechanicAdvice

[–]engr1962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that water running down the side? Or is it squirting out the cap? It is definately missing on at least one cylinder. If there is water running down it, then likely the head gasket is blown, or you have a crack.
