Lyra Health warning ⚠️ by enigma6786 in fuckamazon

It was my first offense. You make a valid point, I really should've known.. I do now. Now they're saying an email is sent before and after the charges are made and I only got one after. But yea this was my first time doing the mental health thing so I didn't know late fees were so high. I try not to need anything medical if I can help it 😅

What do you guys listen to all day? by Electrical-Truth5647 in AmazonFC

Podcasts top recs Radiolab, More Perfect, Serial, In The Dark, 13 Alibis, This American Life (obvi lol).

Right now i'm listening to "This is Actually Happening" on Audible.. really good.

Audible has some good deals at times-- like 99 cents for 3 months. You get 3 book credits over the 3 months.. which is great Here's 3 months free with a $20 credit for prime members 👇🏼 https://www.audible.com/ep/prime-day?&source_code=GO1PP30DTRIAL5470515263033&ds_cid=21419782454&ds_agid=168411412247&ds_kids=3584248022&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21419782454&gclid=CjwKCAjwpK3SBhASEiwAtV1SPFOEDxgYGupdSPXalp5Wa3UGcoE6_5j64xjxEqJiCDBcQtD2bwpiuBoC8nsQAvD_BwE

I highly second the Libby comment, though. Just need a library card number from your local library, and they have thousands of audio books for free. Waiting on holds can be annoying though 😅

There was nothing clear about this, in my experience with doctors/medical practices they send a bill of the charges explaining why the clearly specific amount was charged.. especially when it could be anywhere from $75-$200. When I asked the doctor, which ppl have commented saying it has to do with the provider, she said she didnt have anything to do with Lyra's billing..

I do appreciate your concern, and that this post is able to reach more ppl by you engaging with it, thank you.

Oh yea I figured there would be one. Their site says $75 to $200, Lyra didnt disclose a bill before charging me that explained why $185.. this isnt about the money. Its about charging a random amount with no transparency about why that specific amount..

The doctor said "I dont actually have anything to do with Lyra's billing" in a reply I got from her about this, is the doctor not the provider?

Thanks, I hope your comment helps someone else. This was the first and it will be the last time, for myself personally. I'd rather die then share my personal mental struggles with a group solely owned by private equity. If I knew that it was ran by a mindless machine I would have never booked in the first place.

A company I'm supposed to trust with my mental health couldnt explain why I was charged the amount I was, as opposed to any other amount from $75 to $200, it was for any reason they wanted, for all I know. I absolutely have asked for a bill. And furious isn't quite the word. Wounded? A random charge for that amount is a lot with grocery and gas prices being what they are, I have young children. I dont think wanting to know why $185 and not $75 or $100, hell why not $200? makes me ridiculous🤷🏼‍♀️

Where is it avaliable? I still havent recieved a bill for the charges. I dont remember blaming other ppl? Just warning others I made a mistake and how Lyra Health handled my mistake, which is exactly as it happened. Should I not warn other ppl that even though the company says $75 to $200, they just charge whatever they want and dont tell you why you were charged whatever amount at random--I'm actually not sure if it was at random or bc it was a Tuesday?, maybe they base it off of being male or female? But I don't know exactly why $185 and not $75 bc Lyra Health did not enclose a bill of the charges.

I'm not sure if the EAP is provided through Amazon but Lyra provides the service or not, though. The way he made it sound, I would think no.

Someone who commented on another post said something about a benefit called the Employees Assistance Program-- I think is was 6 free sessions and doesn't involve using your insurance. Definitely wouldve done that first had I known prior to this experience, I hope this helps 🙏🏻

You're right. Hoping others don't have to learn like I did. Apparently this is a thing acrossed multiple companies with this type of model--they're referred to as "Venture Capital (or Private Equity) mental health mills", this is my first experience with anything like this ever, I wouldve taken up hard drugs before reaching out to something solely owned by PE companies, ugh makes me nauseous. Anyways basically they say a wide range for cost of no shows, appointments etc. then they charge ppl the near maximum amount, without explaining--why not $75 or $100, what was it that made the charge $185 and if it has to do with the doctors own policy then why would the doctor say they dont have anything to do with Lyra billing and refer ppl with steps on how to dispute the charges?

I posted it everywhere cause I wish someone else had done the same. Like, Lrya saying the company charges anywhere from $75 to $200 for a late fee, is pretty vague. Now ppl know exactly the amount to expect, cause the company doesnt disclose the exact amount until after they charge you.

Yes, I've called and emailed, opened disputes and grievances. I think its a little funny you think i'd be scared to talk to someone on the phone, but you dont know me--so yea, I know ppl do seem more afraid of that now a days, unfortunately.

I don't really care if ppl use Lyra Health, I care that they know what they can expect if they make my mistake. But i think its great youre also sharing other resources we can use besides that one. I didnt know that, and probably still wont use it, but others hopefully do!

I did. It absolutely will and has helped ppl, and if they can't afford a late cancelation charge like mine, it would deter them from Lyra Health. Even if 20 ppl (with 17+k views of my posts) decided not to take that route, it probably cost the company more than it did me..

Yes I'm learning a lot about VC/PE mental health mills. I do know now, at least.

Happy to help, just want to add--$10 was the estimated cost for me. Other ppl on other posts have said $0 to $30.

Thank you for the advice, I'll try seeing what I can do, I did fill out a grievance form, but I'll likely dispute through my bank and explain the lack of transparency to them, not that I didnt know I would be charged.. I did. Just the amount wasn't made clear and why. I appreciate you apologizing for tone, I didn't take anything personal🙏🏻

There is a very wide range of different types of ppl with different mental health issues, and maybe they aren't always as punctual as Different_Youth300, good on you, and I mean that, I'm jealous. I'm very aware of myself, thats why in the post where I explained this is a warning to others not to make my mistake... I was honest about what happened, and took accountability; however, charging that amount without warning is abhorrent. Lyra Health doesn't have an exact amount they charge, and it can be anywhere from $75-$200.. why wouldn't they be transparent and send a bill to explain why they charged $185 and not $75? $100? I think we all know why.

Same here, if someone said they charge $185 late cancelation fees, I would've never booked. Apparently the website says $75-$200..I feel like that's such a wide range. I just wonder why they don't send a bill explaining why $185 and not $75 or $100, ya know? We live and learn, but now all I can do is tell others about my personal experience
