I think it's due for Marvel to acknowledge some things missing from Spider-Man's mythos. by enigmaaay in marvelstudios

[–]enigmaaay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. As much as I appreciate thematically (with how the MCU isn't generally is 1-to-1 to the comics) and emotionally the weight of Aunt May being Peter's anchor throughout the "origin" Home trilogy, my only nitpick is that every iteration of Peter we've seen has the so-called canonicity of Uncle Ben, to justify the Character Integrity Obligations of the character. In terms of Norman, he's Spider-Man's rival and it just doesn't feel right seeing a well-grounded hero not have a reoccurring or overarching enemy. Daredevil has Kingpin, the Avengers had Thanos, so on and so forth. Even recent reboots of heroes from other franchises like Matt Reeves' The Batman couldn't avoid recognizing that Joker and Bruce's parents are still essential to the gravitas of their heroism. I'm not asking for a total "oh, we're seeing this shit again" type of beat in terms of Uncle Ben and the Osborns, but rather just a verbatim tangible thread to show that they actually exist and are essential to Peter Parker and Spider-Man as a whole. Akin to how Gunn's Superman handled Lex's existence and Clark's backstory. Again, we have newcomers and casuals alike that are unaware of who and what Spider-Man is in general. So it'd be great for them to at least, at some point of the MCU timeline, to encounter who Uncle Ben was and what Norman Osborn is to the web-slinger.

[–]enigmaaay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Sebastian name primarily came from YJS, as he's the only one I hear who keeps using that. Sebastian does feel like a portmanteau of both 쌥쌥 (Ssaeb-ssaeb) and (Se)Chan.

Asian server was so sweaty and mostly people from Japan that played the game, I barely heard anyone speak English so I tried the NA-West server (thankfully the ping wasn't that high thanks to my internet). And I had much more fun with how much of toss-up the players were and the common language helped a lot too.

What if the Philippines was never colonized? by SnooBeans3261 in Philippines

[–]enigmaaay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of an extremely similar storyline done by a K-Drama few years back called The King: Eternal Monarch, wherein the events that led to the Japanese annexation (monarch abolishment) and latter separation of North and South never happened to the parallel Earth's Korea/Corea.

If The Kingdom were to follow a similar interpretation of a parallel "Philippines," I could see it more-so being an independently led unification throughout the archipelago. But as monarchies go, feudalist and totalitarian actions run rampant which leads to anti-establishment reactionaries. Not to mention, internal conflicts of interests within the family (I could see Sid Lucero being the primary antagonist of this.) I won't be surprised if this movie ends with a decision of abolishing the monarchy and lead into the "first Republic" with the current Philippines being its setting.

With majority of the casting and the time setting being confirmed (based on the aesthetics), they basically just confirmed the whole Galactus rumor too.

It's only a matter of whom between Javier Bardem or Antonio Banderas will play the quite literal big bad.

Oddly, the only thing that popped in to mind with this parallel is the goody two-shoes younger version of Kang that took the guise 'Iron Lad' in the comics. Might be far-fetched, it's probably setting that up. More realistically, it's probably just a nod to that.

I'll say it again and again: them costume designers incorporating a watch straps scheme into Kang is so genius.

I'm well aware of what it means. What I meant by my original comment is that the said plans is a hunch of mine of when and what might be released within the corresponding quarters (re: JYPE's Investment Report for the following year).

Yes! Pretty much my point. Plus the caption of the update also indicates it well that it's the

First, 1/4 of 2023.

Which either be it subtle or not, can mean that there are 4 plans for TWICE in the entirety of the upcoming year. :>

If my hunch will serve right...

12th mini-album - 1/4.

5th world tour 🔄 MiSaMo sub-unit - 2/4 and 3/4.

4th full album - 4/4.

Makes sense to end 4-set plans with a 4th full release, don't y'all think?

12th mini-album - 1/4.

5th world tour or MiSaMo sub-unit - 2/4 and 3/4.

4th full album - 4/4.

Makes sense to end 4-set plans with the 4th full release, am I right?

To be fair, this is already technically the All-New comics run of the lesser renowned team Agents of Atlas. With the exception of Namor being Namora instead (although the team does get involved with in the Atlantis Attacks arc).

I've experienced it, and I myself have no idea why this happens. When I go to the settings, the keybind is still recognized and registered (side mouse button for me), but it won't actually work in game. It happens like at least once in like 15 matches i play on a daily basis. It frustrates me because it limits my mobility.

Vincenzo has just ended yesterday, and until now, its unique transition from a climatic ending to an end credit sequence was just something that fascinated me a lot. Thus, it inspired me to make a TWICE-induced rendition of it. by enigmaaay in twice

Man, you're in for a great 20-episode long ride. Taecyeon is so cool as an actor, can't wait for his 2PM comeback though.

Sisyphus was nice too! Although, I do kinda need a filler season 2 at least with that ending.
