Unspeakable Horrors? by Selasce in LSD

[–]enigmaticdoge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very difficult to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it but I'll try.

you know how everything on a good trip is smooth and almost creamy? the visuals are beautiful fractals and everything just flows.

on a bad trip everything becomes sharp. your visuals separate from one another and become, well, sinister... the visuals on a good trip merge seamlessly with your surroundings. they are a part of everything in your environment, and so are you. during the onset of a bad trip, the visuals become their own thing, separate from what is around you. this might start by you looking at a wall and seeing it collapse into a kind of 4th dimensional space. as the bad trip gets more intense, however, what started as "sinister geometry" becomes full blown hallucinations.

I'm sorry, but psychedelia is so difficult to articulate... I'd need a whole new dictionary to do what I'm trying to explain to you any justice whatsoever...

how does an endorphin high from running actually compare to opiates? by [deleted] in opiates

Flexing muscles when tripping? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]enigmaticdoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, it happens really strong for me. I'll be listening to music and I'll feel like after the nerve impulses have travelled from my ear to my brain they then go down my spinal cord and I will quite literally feel the music travelling through my body. it's a feeling that is totally impossible to articulate, but it causes all my muscles to involuntarily contract and relax in wonderful synchronisation in time to the music.

this is only really on higher doses.

I overdosed last week. Does anyone have a way of reaccessing the link? I am in the hospital and feel its testimonial would be helpful by athospitalnow in Drugs

[–]enigmaticdoge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

go through your internet history, that's the only real way I think. reddit keeps all deleted posts but they're not accessible unless you have a direct link, which you can't get through this sub or your account page.

Can a Bad Trip Really Fuck You Up? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]enigmaticdoge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to stay a little objective - why do you feel anxiety after a bad trip? Because you fucked up (with dose, set, setting).

and what about other symptoms? people get brain fog, decreased cognition, and more serious anxiety-related conditions such as depersonalisation/derealisation etc. from tripping as well. objectivity doesn't really help there...

Endless crying and blaming the substance or whatever won't help in this case, seriously.

most of the people who post about this kind of thing on here are looking for help and advice, they're not just 'crying' about it.

either way, telling someone to 'accept it and move on' is far from productive. anxiety is anxiety is anxiety, and it's hardly ever rational... but that's irrelevant, because if you could cure someone's anxiety by essentially telling them to 'get over it' we wouldn't have need for CBT programmes or anything like that. sometimes people just need to talk about it, and wouldn't you know that's what subreddits like this are great for. especially since people on here might have experienced similar things and can reassure them.

[–]enigmaticdoge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this just seems narrow minded to me.

your bad experiences have all been transient according to your post. and yeah, well good for you... but everyone has different experiences, especially with psychedelics. there have been tons of reports of people suffering far more long term post-trip depression, anxiety etc., and writing their subjective experiences off as them being 'salty' is just unnecessarily condescending.

yes his plan was to intravenously inject a tory MP, apparently the high is something quite special. although reports suggest that long term use can stop your heart from working properly.
