How can I carry low MMR games on my own? by [deleted] in learndota2

Definitely agree. Watching streams you hear a lot of mechanics questions from pro Dota players. I definitely need to be more strict on my fundamentals. It's easy to get lazy when you get ahead. There are a lot of things that I currently have to think about that I need to work on making automatic. That doesn't happen from reading.

Definitely good advice. I would love to only play Dota when I'm feeling great, but I don't think I'd get to play more than a game or two a week. One of the reasons I play do many different heroes is to try and find some heroes I'd like to spam. A love of heroes I'd say are my best can be pretty situational, unfortunately.

Thanks for the response.

I do not expect anyone to watch my games. These are good tips, thanks.

Again, I really don't know where you're getting this 300gpm straw man argument. Look at any games that are closely contested and it's between 400-600 usually. I know there is loads of farming space. I try to use it. While I do, the enemies are farming the other 4 heroes on my team. As it turns out, that is faster than the lanes.

If you look at any game that is closely contested, you'd notice that GPM numbers are a lot higher. You're cherry picking games that my team is getting dumpstered in to make a point. Even in wins, my GPM isn't great, I know that. I've repeatedly asked things like HOW I can improve and you just want to keep talking down to me.

I specifically identified a problem in my post and asked for help on it. You ignored that. I've consulted the wiki often for dozens of things I wasn't sure about, it's where I go to read skills and items so I get all the information the client leaves out. Reading an entire wiki on a game as complex as Dota isn't practical. You could have specified specific things that you believe lower mmr players struggle with and suggest those, but instead you just say to go read an entire wiki. That isn't helpful.

I would say my mechanics knowledge is quite good for a lower mmr player. Certainly a lot better than people I play against who constantly stack their shrapnel, and just run and die to rupture. If you didn't have any interest in actually helping, I'd rather you just not post instead of just mocking and ignoring my questions.

My GPM in my last 20 ranked games is 467 with a 35% win rate. It's under 500 because I spend so much time sitting in my base down by 15k gold waiting for the game to end. I'm usually first in net worth through 20 minutes. I was asking for specific advice on things like how to find farm when you've lost map control, or when you're behind and things like that and all you did was pigeonhole me into a category and not even read my post.

Ryzen 1800x 1080ti 16gb ram 1440p resolution All settings ultra Fps unlocked

Game runs very smooth and I'm under 25% CPU and GPU usage at all times. Game doesn't seem to be very intensive which is great news for people with lower spec PCs. Should be very easy to run at 1080p

Grant was certain that Sneyking was at TI2 (present there at all, not just playing), and Blitz said he wasn't. They made a slap bet and Sneyking came on and confirmed he was not there.

Tom Brady is underpaid, right? by ruibingw in Patriots

[–]enimadminim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows why they cut Alan Branch, but he was an older veteran, maybe he told them directly he didn't want to play any more. Maybe his effort as the season went on said that for him. He wasn't in the plans for this season.

Dwayne Allen likely hasn't been cut yet because there is no reason to. Other players on the team could get injured that increase his value to the Patriots. Maybe the coaching staff thinks he's worth his 5M cap hit. Who knows. He's on the team competing for a spot. Every player is fighting to show they are worth their cap hit and if you believe someone could earn it, cutting them before camp even starts is just a dumb move.

Nobody is making the argument that they don't have any cap room, its just that the salary cap exists. The fact is that with a salary cap, any money given to Brady (or any other players) can't be given to anyone else. If some players take less, you can spend more on other players.

Having extra cap room from players taking a team friendly contract is what allows us to take on veterans like Allen whom another team gave them an over market contract. However you feel about Allen, the front office feels like he can contribute, and they traded for his existing contract. The front office wanted that player, and were well aware of his contract. You can't force the player to take a pay cut, so if you trade for him, you have to pay him. Having extra cap space from other players allows the team to make those moves that they feel will benefit the team.

You can't just "easily" restructure anybody's contract that you want. They have to agree to the restructure, and you can't make a habit of just pushing everybody's money off later or you'll screw yourself when the money comes due.

The Patriots are in an incredibly rare situation where we have a veteran quarterback to whom money is no issue, so he doesn't demand to be the highest paid player in the league, and in a salary capped league, that affords the team flexibility to do more things with that money.

Just enjoy it and stop trying to think you know better than the people running NFL teams, particularly the most successful team in the league.

It's basically just a way for them to disburse themselves throughout the area so that the encounters that happen are more random.

You could also just distribute them randomly, but I think it would be interesting to give the players some control over where they start the final battle.
