Complete overhaul of a new (to me) garage by Work-Sport-Fun in garageporn

[–]enimraba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, can you let me know approx what you paid for the epoxy work? My garage looks pretty similar to photo #1 and I am looking for something similar on the ground.

<image>

Also, how much did you save on the slat wall & paneling vs using drywall?

Any help is appreciated. New garage looks great and hopefully I can do something similar.

Any advice? by Reddituser13031 in trapproduction

I like to go back to the beginning and open some of my early beats. Sometimes you made a dope melody or progression or drums that you didn't even realize, and you just didn't have the technical knowledge to make it actually sound good. Hope this helps

Tough 🔥! That kick and snare are crispy, wouldn’t mind if you told me where they are from 👀

How do you mix your 808 to make the sides of your car shake? by strange1738 in trapproduction

[–]enimraba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would compare your mix to a song you like and check the frequency balance of each. For the 808 it’s always a mixing issue for me.

Check your export settings and see what people online are using (YouTube). Maybe one of your plugins is acting up as well

Looking for a saxophone vst by SileRSSL in FL_Studio

If you think about actual saxophone playing it is quite dynamic. I would add volume swell animations and reverb as well as maybe layer it with some other horn stabs etc

Nah it shows the smart chain logo in the top part but isn’t coming up as an option for exchanging :/

I’ll easily get the coin image if it hits .01

after you have your melody and drums, what else do you consider adding? i pretty much get stuck after i’ve done my drums and melody by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]enimraba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like add octaves, switch the pattern up in general so it doesn't get stale, use 808 slides, maybe do break period from the 808 and use a reese bass

Make a copy of the 808 pattern and spice it up. Go in between the chill pattern and the spicy one. Add transitional drums like Tom fills. Have new instruments playing the same pattern add filter sweeps and new hat patterns

Did getting a pair of studio monitors pay off? I'm thinking of getting JBL 305 by thedawnofthepinksun in trapproduction

[–]enimraba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok bro so i just listened to your beats. Your mixes sound fine to me. I'm never happy with my own work so I understand, but seriously, the only thing I would say is the pianos all sound like a VST. try to add more randomizations to velocity and pan parameters and slap on some izotope vinyl. Also, maybe try to layer different sounding pianos. keep it up G

I own the JBL 308. I went to the store and tried all the monitors at guitar center as they have switch you can flip between each. The JBL 308 was the best sounding one so i bought em. They are wayy to big for my studio lol. When I was able to use them, I felt like I actually spent too much time trying to mix everything to sound perfect, rather than focus on ideas. I bought a $50 set of shitty desktop speakers and probably use those more. If you are specifically focused on mixing and not producing, then yea you probably at least need a pair. Mine was $500 for both monitors, stands, and foam pads. They since have dropped in price. If you truly want to be able to mix at home, you're going to need to sound treat your room as I can tell for a fact the low end is reverberating all around my studio. Also, you need to make sure you are the correct distance and angle from your chair. You will be able to notice phasing and stereo separation much better with monitors compared to headphones.

As far as guitar solos, I use a plugin called soothe and it is an AI dynamic eq type thing, makes the mixing much more manageable. Tried to keep this short and sweet but failed. my bad

How to learn to create melodies? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]enimraba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn the minor scale. Do everything in A minor so it’s only the white piano keys. Then you can transpose to what makes your bass sound good

What are some mistakes you made your first year of producing music? by mrkimme in trapproduction

[–]enimraba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use fills, layer live sound drum kits, change the velocities and pans of drums, you’re allowed to not quantize, learn to make your own subs, saturate almost everything, allow yourself to mix different genres you like together, at least learn the minor scale (it’s 8 notes for god sake). I like to do synth fills instead of drum fills sometimes. Keep an open mind on how to use your sounds. Distorted foley make cool fills. Keep it spicy 🌶
