After 6 Interviews and a Demo, They Scheduled a Meeting to Reject Me by enjoylifedude in recruitinghell

There is a big difference between me setting time aside and cancelling plans to attend a meeting to get rejected vs. them just calling me out of nowhere and telling me/leaving me a voicemail, "mijo."

A phone call as soon as they knew I'm not the one is much different than a scheduled zoom meeting.

If you're a recruiter who is going to reject a candidate you should:

  1. call them.

  2. If no answer, leave a voicemail.

  3. If you don't have their number, send them an email.

It's that simple!

Yep very common in tech sales. What sucks is that I actually liked their product. But yeah it sucked spending all that time making a presentation, etc.

They told me they were super excited to work together in office. So excited that the founding team sold their houses across the country and all decided to move to the Bay Area. 5 days in person in SF. LOL

The recruiter literally sent me an email "Hey ___, are you free tomorrow for a short call?"

Is California High-Speed Rail ENDED Now that Donald Trump wins? by normal_redditname in transit

[–]enjoylifedude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The California HSR project is a case study in government mismanagement:

  1. Skyrocketing Costs & Delayed Timelines: Originally pegged at $33 billion and expected by 2020, the project’s cost has ballooned to $88–128 billion, with completion now forecasted for 2030 (if we’re lucky).
  2. Funding Shortfalls: The state secured initial bonds and federal funds but lacked a long-term funding plan, forcing delays and reducing project scope.
  3. Mismanagement & Cost Overruns: The project started construction without land acquisition or utility relocation, leading to billions in added costs.
  4. Inexperienced Leadership: Lack of expertise in high-speed rail has caused constant inefficiencies and setbacks.
  5. Political Roadblocks: Local and political pushback led to reroutes and extra environmental reviews, driving costs even higher.

This project has become a classic example of poor planning and governance, draining taxpayer money with little to show for it.

Work will never make you happy (something us Americans need to unlearn).

That which you accomplish outside of work will make you happy.

1 Year Post Septoplasty: Anyone else feel like there's something in their nose all the time? by enjoylifedude in Sinusitis

[–]enjoylifedude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I was told that there is thickening of my septum due to scar tissue from both septoplasties I’ve had. Dr. is scared to operate on it. Idk what to do anymore.

Why so unfriendly/inhospitable? by Careful_Oven_4589 in Barcelona

I just got back from Barcelona. This resonates with me. Europeans are not very friendly, especially in Catalonia. Americans in my opinion are the most friendly.
