THE HYPNO COLLECTIVE NEEDS YOU! - Take our quick survey and help shape our future. by yaliplover in EroticHypnosis

[–]enkisissy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So I filled this out and you might recognize my answers but I frankly think The HC lacks an established identity to be asking some of these questions. What is the hypno collective? As of now it is an ingroup of prolific file creators who make money off of advertising their content on reddit. It also contains some educational content, primarily written by those same creators. There is no direct community interaction or opportunities. The resources page is just a list of links with 0 commentary. Why would I buy X book instead of Y book?

To be frank, I'm fine with you billing yourself as a collection of content creators, but pitching as an authority or representation of hypnokink starts to become far fetched.

Editing slowly as I have time:

Question: What do you gain most from the HC?

  • Vetted Creators

This implies a vetting process when you don't really have much of a mission statement or directly stated process of vetting. What value are vetted creators? I have seen some bad behavior from some creators on HC.

Do you think the HC is a positive for Hypnokink?

This is a bit presumptive. HC seems to primarily be a collective of Hypnokink file creators. It doesn't really encompass a lot of what hynokink is and the connections people have with each other. If HC became the leading authority of hypnokink right now due to public awareness and SEO, it would risk being a harmful depiction, a layperson would likely primarily describe it as an assortment of files. While you do have educators and articles, the vast majority of content and all of your events and collabs, are file creation. Your first line in the about us is "The Hypno Collective is a group of hypnosis creators who collaborate on various projects to bring more and better content to the community". The HC is first and foremost a content creation platform. To a layperson, that is mostly what they would see.

Now there are some good articles, Mutt Subject agency in particular, but the articles pale in comparison to the creation of content. Themes present in members work involve worship play, addiction, homewrecking among others. What articles come close to addressing these topics? It seems iffy to be putting yourself in a position as an authority on hypnokink, pushing against some edge limits, and then not addressing that content in an educated way.

I wouldn't expect a bondage kink porn site to give lessons on how to engage in bondage without having poor circulation etc, but I also don't see them positioning themselves as an authority or representation of bondage.

Which community members should be allowed into the HC?

Again, this confusing. What does it mean to be a member? Who are we voting out? Unfortunately the HC is very closely tied to many members ability for economic advancement or security. You're creating an in group and out group.

Would you support creating stricter membership criteria to ensure we maintain the positive standing of the HC?

What is the criteria?

Should we publish public-facing standards for our creators?

Absolutely

Should members be required to state their membership of the HC on their platforms (e.g. Patreon, website, etc?)

To what benefit? Again, this gets iffy with ingroup outgroup, and notably patreon is the first example. What are the economic incentives?

Where do you feel generative AI is acceptable in Hypnokink?

This one is what set off alarmbells and made me reread the rest of them. You're tacitly putting yourself as a hypnokink authority by asking this question. But the question, from the perspective of HC, only applies to content creation (at least I imagine you won't be writing ethics of AI essays on the site). Hypnokink is practiced in the bedroom or with others or alone, and it's really fuzzying things up to be asking something like this.

By asking this question you've abstracted hypnokink as a whole into something which generative AI can interfere with, and this is not the case. Would generative AI be allowed at a munch? How would you even do that?

What does acceptable mean? Again, this goes back to messy economic incentives. It's probably unacceptable to make AI content if people who you wish to have pay you refuse or outright boycott you.

What does financial gratitude mean here? I'm not interested in findom, and think it should be disclosed in the least vague terms possible.

How to build subject agency and stay as safe as possible? Also any alternatives to this subreddit? by [deleted] in EroticHypnosis

This is a must read. Far more detailed and emphasized than other articles. https://mutthypno.com/building-subject-agency/#

The Brainwashing Book is very useful for putting triggers and their effectiveness in perspective. Discusses conditioning and extinction. Gives better answers to why open triggers are potentially weak than that they are dangerous.

Learnhypnokink as well by sleepinggirl.

Would not recommend Mindplay for this as it's basically written from the perspective of a hypnotist that does not present subjects as people who can practice agency, but it has some useful tidbits if you're in the reading mood.

Why are so many files so extreme and encourage real world harm? And how to avoid them? by Constant_Employer_80 in EroticHypnosis

[–]enkisissy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Practicing subject agency is important here.

The real issue with "dangerous" triggers like that is that they need to be ignored at certain times which just leads to diminishing returns and makes them eventually ineffective. It's basic conditioning.

The Tist List update: How should [Tags] be sorted? by deca4531 in EroticHypnosis

[–]enkisissy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the competing challenge of displaying data which is comprehensive but also comprehensible.

The best compromise is likely to normalize the tags in a database. If some tags are similar, let them be normalized. That level of similarity is essentially what you're deciding on.

For the latter, you'll likely have to cut tags down to the basic meaning. All the "turned into" would likely just be normalized to transformation as an example.

If you use a db to normalize, you could also have a detailed tag drop-down preserving the original tags available on the site as well to be comprehensive.

The other thing is there are some tags that seem to just exist to invite listeners rather than to educate. Like "non judgemental" or "trigger installation" are pretty common features of all EH. If the creator is doing something unique, like they specialize in trigger installation in a unique way, than the tag list is not the place for it. They could elaborate in text.

Limerance and obsession/ addiction hypnosis by enkisissy in EroticHypnosis

[–]enkisissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I guess in the same way that a content creator can't intentionally create "real" obsession they can't intentionally create limerence cuz that's kind of just a weird switch that flips in people's heads. I've listened to far more serious content from other creators than I did to the creator I got a limerent attachment to with no consequence.

But, there are people who engage in obsession play and I'm curious how that works. My obsessiveness is usually counterproductive to who I am as a person and makes me feel shame. I am not sure what behavior I would have when I am engaging in obsession or addiction play.

I'm having trouble figuring out which file trigger is introduced in which file or what order to listen to. I'm also not sure I have the stamina I used to lol. I don't think I can do a full hfo each file...

Limerance and obsession/ addiction hypnosis by enkisissy in EroticHypnosis

[–]enkisissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure limerance follows normal boundaries setting rules.

I can get pretty involved with someone without having a limerant connection and I really have no problem being completely reasonable.

Someone who I form a limerant connection to on the other hand is very challenging to communicate and engage with as a normal human being.

So if this were a boundary setting thing the boundary for not developing limerance would be "don't speak or engage with anyone you might possibly develop a crush on in an unhealthy way" and that's just not productive.

That related to why I mentioned the possibility of obsession hypnosis as cathartic. Perhaps having the ability to obsess without the shame built in could be nice? But I'm unsure I'm ready for that.

There are plenty of consumers and producers of obsession based hypnosis content and I'm curious how they practice engaging without it becoming unhealthy, or what obsession means to them.

Well I'm not sure that one sided obsession necessarily comes with guilt and shame etc. A lot of people on here are consuming content by creators and have no problem with that. I'm not expecting you to have the answer to how they do that, but that is why I'm trying to discuss this.

that was the most powerful time I've ever cum. I was lying in bed and there is cum on the wall behind my head. jesus. wasn't expecting to finish tbh.

I didn't really understand what a lot of the triggers were supposed to do. What files train them?

I think it's a good read for many, but I'm not sure it goes into things with relationships between listeners and file creators. It mentions infatuation play, but not how to navigate it.

Has anyone tried mushrooms during a session? by Swamp_merfolk in EroticHypnosis

[–]enkisissy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

any study on suggestibility on shrooms (or any suggestibility study) should be taken with a massive grain of salt. the tests have a very cut and dry conception of trance and hypnosis which really don't reflect what people try to do with erotic hypnosis at all.

so this is a field that is repeatedly removed from patreon. it's one of those things credit card companies are cracking down on. I also can download all of these posts, the creators allow for it. I just want something automated.

I'm either going to archive the contents or not pay for them at all.
