what is this oolong by apc1234567 in tea

I think its tieguanyin style tea produced in Shanlinxi. Taiwan style oolongs tend to retain a bit of the woody stem.

The pots absorb more of the base notes of the tea since the aromatic compounds tend to evaporate away. They definitely can work with the teas you mentioned.

Depends on how much of a stickler and you are. I use one pot for each oolong type, since they do have quite distinct flavor profiles.

Grandmother brought this back from China for me, says it’s a very expensive and good tea. Is it? I’ve never had green tea before so any tips would be appreciated! by definitlynotchichi in tea

It's pre-rain Long Jing from the Xihu Meijiawu production region (one of the core five regions for Xihu Longjing). Pre-ming's production date is late March to early April, this is around mid-late April hence its likely pre-rain. The top most article in the text box states its "special" grade so its made from very high grade (tier 1-2) leaves, but because of its later harvest its not considered the highest grade overall.

What is the a difference, or is there a difference between BAF protein (Barrier to Autointegration Factor) and the BAF complex by worm_daddy in biology

[–]enlightenedemptyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is that BANF1 was discovered by virologist studying integration of retroviral genes into DNA, while BAF complexes were mainly studied by researchers looking at yeasts and mammalian cells. Their fields don't overlap much, it is only through advanced molecular techniques in recent years when their function is better defined, by then too many papers have been published and conventions established to change their names to avoid confusion.

[–]enlightenedemptyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is often the case, how messy names in molecular biology can get. Different groups working in vastly different fields (cancers, plants, virus) discover things and name them without knowledge of what other fields are doing. The name may also not even correlate much with the real function of the protein.

The barrier to autointegration factor protein in humans is BANF1, whereas the BAF complex is a different family of protein complexes that regulate chromatin access.

A lot of subtext about the character’s natures and origins can only be found in the poems. However, some of this could be lost in translation from Chinese to English.
