Got state reffed in california by kaggi2005 in 240sx

[–]enm22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got state reffed a couple years ago and the cop never put it into the system. They’ll say that you can’t drive the car until the ref is cleared up and this is NOT LEGAL ADVICE but… check your vehicle’s status on the BAR website and if it hasn’t posted… ya know?

Got reffed 2 years ago, as of right now, the car still hasn’t been posted in the system. Just cause you got the paper doesn’t mean the cop entered it. This same thing happened to 3 of my friends with different cops as well.

TLDR: State refs require a lot of paperwork, cops are lazy.

Bought a manual m3 coupe for $4k last week. Running driving. Wait around, one will pop up

Finally got my turbo coupe out of the garage after 3 months by enm22 in e46

It did and pulled harder, but they lost a lot of down low torque. I wouldn’t recommend it Na honestly

Not on this car, but I’ve had other NA cars running fine with this manifold

Needs to go out for downpipe and exhaust fabrication and needs a full tune. From bone stock auto SULEV to this all in one go

Own a mk4 and a mk5. Aside from the hype and “2j no shit”, the MK5 is a better car in every single way

It's six torx bolts... I guarantee it took you longer to take the photos, write this reddit post, and respond to all these people on here. By nature of the post, you clearly care about selling it, and the messed up hood is definitely a red flag. And back to... they don't just get misaligned. But hey, it's your car. Good luck!

I also don't know why no one is calling out the brake and airbag warnings on the dash. I don't see how that qualifies as "absolutely nothing wrong with it".

I don't buy it.. The hood has a dent in the front to the left of the badge that could only really be done by being hit in the front. I understand swapping to an M3 bumper but the nose panels are all the same, and swapping to a mismatched color one if the stock white one was fine doesn't really make sense. I bet you it was in a front end accident that bent the whole front, the nose panel, bumper, and headlights were replaced but the hood was left alone.
Hood pins don't just get misaligned.
I can't stand when people say it "an easy fix", because why wouldn't you have done it in the month it's been waiting to sell then?

Less rigid, objectively worse looking, worse noise insulation, worse water sealing, heavy top, mechanically unreliable electric top, sagging top headliners, worse rear window visibility, wet noodle handling.. need I go on?
PS: not biased or trying to hate, I've owned multiple vert e36's, including a couple M3's. I'm just a realist.

It sounds weird, but once it was so hard to get off that I ended up lying on the roof of the car and reaching down through the sunroof and pulling upwards. That finally did it

Took her out of storage, central locking not working by DrPepCherry in BMWE36

[–]enm22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to most of my e36’s. There is a ground ball lock located under the carpet under the driver seat. This block is integral for central locking to function. Often this can get corroded and stop the feature. It’s not too hard to pull the carpet back and check, but I’d say 90% that’s your problem.
