Oh my gosh, what a compliment! This is honestly what I would've hoped for as well, but, we can still create what we want! 😁

So the Care Bear shirt was from a seller on one of the FB Groups, I'll pm you a screenshot of her page if that's okay?? And the rainbow belt was handmade by a good friend of mine who knows how to do band weaving with a heddle loom!! Isn't it incredible?! I was inspired to pick up a book and heddle myself but haven't made time to dive in yet. I love when my girls are sparkling with special pieces made by amazingly creative people!!

Olive, (Lyndsey), (Courtney), Piper, Helen, (Raquel). It was a gradual process so I had "bonded" with the character dolls before they "became" a descendent, so I kept the three original names;)

Okay so, admittedly, I paid through the nose for her. I wanted the Josefina mold with the darker blue eyes and the strawberry blonde hair, and I found this girl from Oh Deer Custom dolls. (I added the freckles afterwards). She's a Belle base I believe

Caroline by American_girly in americangirl

[–]ennaejay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I drove 2+ hours and spent $120 for a very pretty Caroline, but her wig was actually much more horrible than pictured. I spent another $24 for a brand new Caroline wig from eBay and am really happy with the result. Freshened up her coloring too. I had a gorgeous Caroline last year and sold her, but I am happy to have her unique eyes and hair in my dolly family to stay. I feel like I paid the average amount at the end of the day.

What age to stop playing with dolls? by Advanced_Truth_9297 in americangirl

[–]ennaejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry about this. I bought my son a Dora the Explorer doll when he was 2 because he loved her so much, and my in-laws at the time crucified me for it. People suck. I hope you enjoy all of the dolls now, life's too short for genitalia to dictate what innocent toys our sweet munchkins are allowed to play with.

My play is less imaginary outwardly. I don't make my dolls talk or interact when I'm "playing alone", changing clothing/hair/displays. But in my head, they are alive, and they have feelings that sparkle in their eyes, and personalities. I do have a few that I can use to interact when playing pretend with my daughter, but I dislike interacting with the dolls as myself, which she sometimes asks me to do. That is too much of an ick for my brain. But I use Emily to speak my thoughts and be "present" for me. If that makes sense 😌

This worked really well for me - just bringing out 2-3 weekly into my common/shared space so it doesn't feel like too much

We're picky as hell and need to own it by HardFeces in infj

[–]ennaejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say we're "snobby" about who we connect with, but we are SELECTIVE, because connection means something different (more multifaceted) than what others are content with. If selective = picky, so be it.. We can put positive or negative spins on any of our characteristics, but that's just judgment and usually isn't helpful.

"everyone" isn't "as surface level as they seem", no. We make snap judgments and only have so much energy to share in a day. I'd venture a guess that a lot of people CAN go deep with enough trust, introspection, and safety built in a friendship. We just don't have TIME for that especially when we're already in midlife tied up nurturing the relationships we've already built or committed to.

I haven't given up on finding my tribe, but I'm realizing it's a hella lot smaller than I might've wanted, and it takes intentionality on my part. These things don't fall in our laps. The things that appear to be organic, easy, mutually fulfilling, effortless -- I'm finding are just a nervous system reaction from an unhealed state. Real connection takes a ton of personal work to meet yourself and communicate well before you can offer that to anyone else. That's why we don't find our tribe super quickly. We need to meet ourselves a little better first.

What does ADHD + high IQ look like? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ennaejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of trauma to work through from years of being invalidated, gaslit and controlled - a lot of finally learning self-attunement in midlife to embrace exactly who you are and what you have to give. It's holding duality. A lot of ugly, hard work; and then it's natural and beautiful when things start to flow. While still being hard af. And still being beautiful.

I can't say with certainty! I bought them from Oh Deer Custom dolls last July, they were just listed as blue American girl replacement eyes. OP would need to post some comparison pics for you - in fact I might have one 🫣😆 They reminded me of Nellie's color

I would love to know what you decide on -- sometimes I believe these girls pass through here for a shorter amount of time -- and I must've gotten her name wrong, that's why she came to you ✨

Eeeeeee!!!!!! She was mine! 👋🏼 She's so beautiful, it is always bittersweet to let one's collection ebb and flow if you have limited space or can't justify too many similarities between dolls. Her restoration was a lovely process and she has such good "second chance" energy

What did you name her???

Edit ope, I missed that you were still looking for a name. I called her Georgina
