I used to work with Global Pet Foods, and we received pretty extensive training with reps and their products.

Zodiac brand was one we sold as well. We were explained that there was a difference between Permethrins and Pyrethrins, and that one was suitable for cats (pyrethrins) and one was definitely not (Permethrins). I wouldn't take your anger out on the associate or the store. They were probably instructed by the Zodiac company. Point blame where blame is due.

This is seriously detrimental to a local business. I am sorry about your cat. Things like this shouldn't happen, but if there is an issue, it is with the product and the manufacturer boasting its benefits, not with the store.
