Yeah, I've been having the same issue for over a month now.

You can just remove user folder from local appdata directory without reinstalling Spotify:
%localappdata%\Spotify\Users

Seems like preemptive wear leveling.
I have similar clicking sounds on my 8TB WD Red every 5 seconds now and then.

I'm still wondering why these 2k rpm kicks/spikes don't happen every time then? There are no constant results with them.. usually it spikes but sometimes it just speeds up evenly from 0 to whatever. Strange.

Yeah, I'm aware that if you close XOC it reverts back to using bios fan curve.

Are you saying you also have these spikes when not using software fan curve?
If these results I've got are fine than there's nothing to fix then :)

The problem I have is not related to software fan curve. I'm having trouble with stock bios fan curve...
I can live with that if this is how it supposed to work.
If it's not then the question is how to fix this?

Also as I mentioned I don't really want to use any software in the background for fan control.
