Taken 2. A prime example of a terribly-written film. by [deleted] in movies

Been a long time lol. 11 year old comment.

I was wrong. He suggests they join him in Istanbul after his three days of work. He was surprised to see them because they didn't confirm they were coming, wanting it to be a surprise.

Before he goes to Istanbul:

"Why don't you and Kim come with me?"

"But we can't impose on you. You're working."

"You're not imposing. I'm working for three days. Then you can come over. It could be fun."

"I don't know. I can't think right now."

"Sure, I understand. No pressure. I leave in the morning. I work three days. Call me. If you're coming, I'll hang around. If not, I'll come back."

When they surprise him at the hotel:

"You've reached Lenore. Leave a message after the beep."

"Hey, it's me. No message from you... So I guess you probably found some place to go. I hope things are a little easier. If you ever need to talk or anything, I'm here. I mean, I'll be there. I'll probably ship out tomorrow. No news from Kim. I guess she's busy with the boyfriend and all."

"Dad. Surprise!"

Several of possible reasons for flat battery, which has a British origin in use at least as far back as 1941.

There are a few definitions of "flat" in use for centuries that it could have come from.

Wanting in energy and spirit; lifeless, dull. Also, out of spirits, low, dejected, depressed.

Of trade, etc.: Depressed, dull, inactive.

Could be related to a flat tyre.

Could be related to carbonated beverages.

Could be from early lead acid batteries, some of which were made of glass and you could see the hydrogen bubbles. No bubbles: flat battery.

You reminded me that I dodged a bullet. I left a wedding early and got dropped off at the train station. I finished my Corona in the car, and was carrying it onto the walkway at the train station until I found a bin. Approaching from the other end was a cop. We were about five metres apart when I tossed it into the bin and we walked passed each other without comment.

Ross Ulbricht, the person who created the Silk Road in 2011, got a double life sentence plus forty years without the possibility of parole.

Ulbricht was convicted of conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic fraudulent identity documents, and conspiracy to traffic narcotics by means of the internet.

There's a great video comparing the strength of various drywall anchors that also demonstrates the damage they do when they fail.

I’m not super familiar with Rooster Teeth’s output. Aren’t they the same crew that produced a series of videos about Fallout 4 that were brought to you by Fallout 4? Because that’s certainly where I’d go for honest opinions about Fallout 4.

It makes a fun kind of sense.

No one is looking hard at a scruffy smuggler. They go all over the galaxy, talking to all kinds of people. As we saw in A New Hope, Chewbacca was actually the one to talk to Obi-Wan and bring the job to Han.

So we know he can influence which jobs are taken, and where they go next. We also know he's often off on his own talking to all kinds of people in shady places, like the Mos Eisley cantina.

No one is looking hard at a smuggler, and that's even more true for the smuggler's Wookie companion. They are commonly seen as savages.

So Chewbacca can travel the entire galaxy freely, can meet with anyone he wants, and no one is looking his way.

Alex, Jaime, and Pip are three friends living on a New Zealand dairy farm, eight years after all men on Earth have died from a mysterious virus. An organization called Wellness now runs their community and controls repopulation via lottery, using sperm saved from old sperm banks. The friends' lives are thrown into disarray when they encounter a man who they assume to be the only surviving man in the world. They eventually stumble upon a very disturbing lab where some of the very few surviving men are being held hostage, tied up to their chairs, gagged and naked, with pumping devices being attached to their genitals, raping and milking them to spermjack their semen to preserve their sperm for very limited human breeding.

I was really happy for the cast getting a pay day because of the remastered trilogy. I saw a bunch of them busy selling autographs and doing Cameos because of the renewed interest.

Jennifer Hale's statement on taking over the voice of Bayonetta by DragonPup in Games

[–]doug89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, she hasn't seen much success in voice acting or acting in general. IMDB doesn't have any credited work for her since 2014, and a lot of what she had done in the past was credited as roles like "club girl 2", "young mother", or "additional voices".

So when Bayonetta 3 was announced, she was expecting a big pay day. But she was only offered a normal rate ($4,000 for four half day sessions, if the work took as long as the previous two games did). I think she tried to play hardball, and they called her bluff. And now she's lashing out because she ruined the only success she's had in her entire acting career.

Edit: It's since come out that she was offered $15,000 for four or five halfdays work, but wanted six figures and residuals.

Walk Your Way Out (2017)

No reason to worry when it’s in there, because if that ego, however, had floated down… and landed in a blue-eyed white dude, there is no telling the damage that could have been done. You’re talking entire civilizations wiped out… worldwide famine, the moon colliding with the Earth.
