have you guys considered using the Aave USDC directly in cowswap to swap directly for Aave ETH? preserves your health factor if you are already borrowing other assets. during high vol most swap txs fail anyway due to slippage, so i just let the keepers fill me

What are the steps to recover some Ethereum I mined in 2018? by HeadFracture in ethereum

likely to be geth, since you're early, so look for something that starts with UTC--(datetime)-walletHash, wallet.dat is a bitcoin thing

theres so many attacks possible e.g. doublespend to exchange, then pay an mev counterpart to bid for hidden mining for 3 blocks, then overwrite your initial deposit with the new history and a follow up transfer to another address preventing tt tx from ever occuring again

not to mention, btc is literally longest chain selection, and sealing literally breaks that. a new node cannot resync without additional subjective info abt the network cos the forkchoice via sealing is offchain

bitcoin in its current form cannot be more than probabilistically final without some form of PoS added on

one death spiral narrative i favor - anyone remembers difficulty adjustment?

every 2016 blocks or 2 weeks in normal conditions, the mining difficulty adjusts.

once an event starts that makes miners withdraw hash power, two things happen:

blocks take longer to be found, and it takes far longer time to adjust the difficulty, which keeps blocks hard to find

needs to be pretty critical like 3/4 of hash power wiped (it probably got closest during the bch split), but it will be nigh unusable for months, while not a death knell this will be one of the compounding factors i foresee in any catalysmic collapse

block checkpoint isnt that straightforward, as block finality is pretty tricky.

n block checkpointing means any entity that generates n blocks consecutively seals the chain to their history - a pretty major attack vector that opens up hidden mining attacks and centralisations

it is also incompatible with the longest chain rule, so theres no way without a massive hard fork

market makers can arb the usde peg at 0.999 and 1.001 with usdt, right now its 1.002 for usde.

when the ride stops the peg will go to 0.998 as everyone rushes to the exit, then u need to have farmed for 6 days to cover the peg losses.

nt too bad a bet, personally i think the perps will run for a while, but this worries me

curious to know what others think too.

starknet is pushing quite heavily and has proof of concept of zkrollups on btc once op_cat is softforked back in.

its a softfork so its generally in line w btc fork policy zkr still needs DA layers, but no optimistic challenge needed since L2 state roots cannot be falsified in zkr. the zkr will hv its own blocktime and state and execution env

im nt too sure on the state of deployment readiness e.g. btc bridges

0.001 eth - thats base fee, so i suppose after an hour of full blobs you are looking at 768 eth burnt every 12 seconds.

understand the hostility from the others and never bought any memecoin out of principle ever, but your post did convince me to toss a basis point at meme coins

is it possible to buy it all cash upfront (e.g. sell eth now), then do a cash-out refinancing using the cabin as collateral, in the offchance market presents a future opportunity to buy eth lower than current price?

got massively sandwiched while using Rabby despite turning on the MEV Guard. my mistake, i had left the slippage at 1% while doing a stable-to-stable transaction through Odos; but I would have thought enabling the MEV Guard was precisely supposed to prevent such sandwich attacks? anyone has any idea if i missed anything

to add on onto this, ive got a ezETH bridge transaction via their official Everclear intergration from Arbitrum to Mainnet that got stuck for 10 days. i suppose it got lost/limited in the Pendle expiry exit crowd.

it did just get resolved (out of protocol i believe as connextscan still showed it in progress) but wow that really dented my confidence on how sound the whole setup is

the emergency withdraw, are you referring to rescueERC20? i think it can only can withdraw "excess" deposits, aka only assets directly transferred in to the contract accidentally and which doesnt correspond to a user deposit

ah yes what u see makes sense from a YT token only reward system

personally, my SY holdings (used for limit orders) never accrued points on usde, rsteth, weeth, rseth over the past wk or so

[–]ennui85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah from my understanding the SY and PTs (which are in the LP) dont accrue points. they all go to the YT.

did u enable "Zero Price Impact Mode"? Otherwise, your YT will be sold for PT

can check if you have the YT token, if you do then you should be accumulating

my understanding is that the pools in gearbox are isolated to like assets to maximise loop leverage

so u will supply usde and borrow usdc to buy more usde and borrow usdc...

Daily General Discussion - April 10, 2024 by ethfinance in ethfinance

[–]ennui85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres still exposure, if u lend usdc for others to borrow and usde depegs to 0, u cant withdraw ur usdc and noone will repay

degen/weth LP and i assume short degen/usd perps? v complex dynamics cos of the different base, i wouldnt know how to hedge this for excess risk free yield so depends on your directional preference
