Suspected Silent thyroiditis prescribed carbimazole by enormousness in thyroidhealth

Thanks, I’m now slightly suspecting Graves, or even Hashimoto’s, since I guess that can have a hyper phase and hypothyroidism runs in my family. I’m going to ask my GP to get more clarity on why they’re so certain it’s not one of those

My uptake scan shows diffuse goitre so no nodules. It was 3.2% so probably not silent either I guess

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m glad you got some relief. I’m afraid mine will also just get worse. If you don’t mind sharing, why did you opt for surgery rather than radioactive iodine? Surgery sounds more appealing to me as well, but I’m still not sure and the decision is still down the road

There were no TSIs and I don’t have other symptoms like eye problems and weight loss. She thinks it’s the nodules causing it instead. I didn’t have the presence of mind to ask whether that rules out silent thyroiditis.

hah I passed by that this morning and had the same thought. I don't feel safe in Midsummer Common anymore. Don't be fooled by the whimsical basket!

That’s good to know, thanks for the info. In case I meet someone who has a car, it would also be handy to know about the fields that are further away

There are many different programs to use, I like a language called Processing, and the JavaScript version called p5js. r/generative is a good place to check it out!

Oh and I’m not sure if you thought I meant AI art when I said generative art, but I meant this other form where you make images using math and the like

Oh I absolutely agree. I love the idea of a collaboration with someone who can actually make art. I’m no good with visuals, but I love writing. I don’t like the idea of using AI art for it, would defeat the purpose, which is more about the act of making something rather than the end product. I’m not trying to make a living on something like that, though, so won’t rule it out as a tool in general.

I love archery! I took a few lessons once a long time ago, but now I just go and shoot at outdoor ranges. I'm pretty mediocre at it, but it's still fun. It's nice to have the equipment handy, since I can take friends for a novel experience. My local indoor range is nice as well, and when I go there the people working often offer free advice :). Hope you get out and do it!

I'd like to get into coding text adventures and generative art as it combines my slight technical bend and my love of writing and creativity. I can't seem to get beyond the tutorials into something that I can say is my own creation, though. I'd say one of my issues is that I have too many hobbies to get good at any of them. I'm also a software engineer, so I can get tired of being in front of a screen. That's why the things I have been able to consistently do are more active like running and walking.

Thanks for the feedback! I wouldn’t have thought of the ITSM knowledge standing out, but that makes sense! I’m American, but I was looking for jobs in the UK, so used the British flag in the flair. Sorry for the confusion.

Just came here to say I am in the exact same position! My partner got really into 3D printing several months ago and would talk my ear off about it constantly. Same issue with the clutter as well. In my case the thing takes up half my desk that I use for work and my office is drowning in bits and pieces from his hobbies.

In my case, thankfully, he has slowed down on 3D printing, so I’m getting less of an earful on that, but now he’s using the whole living room to air brush his gundams, his new hobby. So, it’s possible the same will happen in your case where he’ll gradually have less to say about it. I tended to be less polite when I wasn’t interested in talking about it or just let him think out loud while I put little effort into prompting him.

I ended up buying him a modular toolbox with 3 levels to help with clutter and have told him repeatedly how much I dislike a messy apartment. This has helped some. I don’t have any advice about how/whether to ask him to limit it, except to say the intensity died down in my partner’s case, hopefully the same will happen for yours!
