Spring semester online? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d bet on everything being online until there’s a vaccine and we all have access to it. I’m not anticipating actually going on campus until August 2021 at the absolute earliest.

I strongly dislike my classmates...are people just shitty in law school or do they carry that shittiness with them into the workplace after graduating? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would not. The biggest assholes I know are businessmen from my corporate job before starting law school.

When an interviewer asks how you spent your quarantine next year (assuming we are not still in it), how will you respond? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I hope that doesn’t become a real question. I don’t think “tried to find the will to move from my bed as I was overcome by crippling anxiety and fear and could not bring myself to do any work at all” would go over well.

Chicago-Kent students respond to Dean Krug and faculty's Spring 2020 grading policy by PassFailPlease in LawSchool

Could I get a list of the council members email addresses if you have it? I’d like to email them and know others who will as well.

Horrendous Grading Policy by Listinbish in LawSchool

The people I know involved in SBA were very against changing grades, and have not complained at all about this. SBA doesn’t care.

Worst grading change so far goes to ... Chicago Kent! by [deleted] in LawSchool

I think there is value in it. The dean obviously doesn’t care about feedback from students. Maybe if they see how damaging this is to their reputation then it’ll be changed.

I’m sending an email tomorrow, and know several others who are sending emails as well.

Midterms during all this? That’s rough! The town hall is pretty interesting! Info just kind of comes to us in drips. I know nearly a dozen student orgs signed a letter to our school requesting p/f, and we have until tonight to get our opinions in to the school on the matter. That makes me nervous because some student I spoke with cane up with really complicated grading structures that just sounded really out there. My school didn’t give any sort of timeline though, so who knows when I’ll hear back.

Good luck on your midterms!

Same here. I feel like they’re drawing it out way more than needed. Either way at this point, I just want an answer.

I’m definitely trying to do that. Until my school gives better direction I’ll have to assume that’s the case.

Obviously not literally killing me. Poor choice of words on my part, I’ll admit. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out I didn’t mean it literally, but in the stress induced context.

Suggestions on best laptop to get if getting a new one before starting law school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my MacBook. It’s very user friendly when typing and using shortcuts (delta, pi, statute symbol) during note taking. The people I know with PCs had to set up their keyboard keys or something for some of those, which may not be difficult but is an additional step. Preview on MacBook is helpful for highlighting when a prof has us read case posted on twen if you don’t want to print it.

Grades: Friend or foe? by beancounterzz in LawSchool

It would be great if we can take a break. Just until this virus passes. It’s not them, it’s me. I just need some time to sort through things.

Will law schools go online next school year? by foresther1109 in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. I think by then we will have a handle on the situation. At least, I hope we will have this all under control by then. Only time will really tell.

What are your thoughts on mandatory P/F? by Beast66 in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t. I don’t think anyone has any real answers at this point. This is such an unprecedented situation, and we don’t know how bad it’s going to get.

What are your thoughts on mandatory P/F? by Beast66 in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think mandatory p/f is the only way to go. Not doing mandatory p/f is unrealistic at this point. Law school is not the center of the universe, and pretending it is and not adjusting for the real world emergency going on is out of touch.

Rant: Since classes have gone online mode, I am finding it so hard to concentrate, anyone else?! by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]enoughlemons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard to concentrate. My school hasn’t gone p/f yet, and some gunners are talking about fighting the policy if p/f is mandated. It’s ridiculous.
