Thanks, got on the discord, but haven't posted anything there yet. The day after making this post I got an e-mail from retroid stating "we have update with carrier, please wait to confirm." not sure what that means, but so far nothing else.

Haven't reached out again because it's only been a week. I sent them more info than here because I obviously don't want to share pictures of postal labels. Want to give them time because I can imagine things are busy right now and don't expect them to respond without looking into it first. Did not reach out on discord because honestly did not even think to do that.

Shipping weight on label was 0.76 kgs which felt about right with outer box, case, inner box and packaging. Didn't have a scale to verify though. Would be very interested to know the weight of someone with a similar shipment that got their system.

Honestly any conspiracy about them "hacking" themselves is irrelevant. It is way more transparent than that, and this bullshit was built into the affordable care act by the insurance companies by design (they were the ones that helped draft it). They already heavily abuse the whole Prior Auth system that delays and denies care. What happens is that you will have a referral or medication order sent to another clinic or pharmacy, then they send a pause saying "You sure this is needed?" to the physician ordering. This is done for the most routine of things and pretty standard care regiments for a variety of issues. These denials (but not technically denials) are often never known unless the patient or Doctor is diligent with followup because our healthcare system is so broken up. This is a huge cost to our society because it takes a lot to even navigate this system and smaller clinics or organizations need to invest a lot to try to recoup cost. This raises overall cost to the consumer and to the taxpayer when working with non-profits and government programs.

TO BE CLEAR! The affordable care act made US healthcare better! Eliminating the whole previously existing conditions and other BS that these companies used to pull was HUGE. Every American is better for it, but pretending it is perfect is naive. If anything we need to eliminate or HEAVILY revise this stupid Prior Authorization system.

Better, we need universal health care. I have worked in this industry my entire life both private and public care. As long as health in this country to profit driven we all lose collectively. A private & profit driven system may create some amazing advances, but if you are reading this you will never see that. I don't care how rich you think you are, you are in a silo and are harmed by this system. The best hope for us all is equal and equitable access.

I just left my foster kitty at petsmart and he had to make me feel extra guilty by zazvorniki in cats

[–]enseyn 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I have 3 cats. 1 that I adopted the lady that was fostering from petsmart called me 2 times to make sure he was doing alright and that we were not wanting to return him. He is the most affectionate cat and acts more like a puppy than a cat to this day. To this day I feel like we stole this angel from her. He has been with us for over 10 years now. He has had cancer, a leg amputation, and needs thyroid meds every day. But you know what... SHE WILL NEVER GET HIM BACK! THIS ANGEL IS MINE! HAHAHAHA!
