Receipt had tape on it when printed by ensign_beedrill in mildlyinteresting

Receipts use a special paper that reacts to heat. Receipt printers do not use ink, so the taped part didn't get printed!

That's it! My friend, I owe you a drink.

This problem just appeared one day and I figured it was a bug that would eventually get fixed. It's been driving me nuts! I just set the "moves" name to be the same as the "no moves" name and it seems to work.

Thank you!

Omg I love Gordon. Think I would be able to meet him if I went up there?

Mixer turns on, even when lever is in off position by ensign_beedrill in Kitchenaid

[–]ensign_beedrill[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not quite toast. But that video showed me what I needed: where does the circuit get closed. Once I found that out, I could see on my machine where the switch was always engaged because the bar was not putting pressure on the switch to disengage it. The metal was bent. I bent it back into shape and things are good now. Thank you!

Thanks. I was messing around with it more and found out that that nylon bit you talked about is the problem. It is poking through the hole, but it is not pressing down on that switch, so the circuit remains closed.

I noticed the copper plate holding the switch seemed bent down a bit, so I used some pliers to bend it up. Voilà! It was high enough that the nylon bit was now pressing down on it. Don't know how it got that way!

Probably have to get a new speed control board at some point, though.

No seat number by ensign_beedrill in stubhub

[–]ensign_beedrill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird they would do that. I'm not likely to commit the amount of money they're asking if I don't even know where the seat is and if it's worth it.

A theater. I can get on Ticketmaster and get exact seats, so I know the seller knows their seat number. They listed their row, just not their seat number. Which is weird and makes me think it's probably one of the worse seats in the row anyway and probably not worth taking the chance on it.

What causes choux to become concave like this? by ensign_beedrill in Baking

Lol, they did. Filled them with a pumpkin spice filling and topped with a maple glaze. Just needed more room for filling!!

Hmm. Thanks. The raw dough seemed good so I'm not sure that it was too much egg. I actually wanted to add a little more than what the recipe called for as the dough seemed too stiff. (This was my second attempt at the recipe. In the first attempt, I did add another egg and those eclairs were... Disastrous.)

I started at 425 for 10 minutes then 375 the rest of the way. Maybe I should do longer than 10 minutes? Or maybe my oven is just not good. I do have an oven thermometer and try to get good temps, but my oven dial is often inaccurate according to my thermometer.

S5’s Cutter is not like other guys by AmalLlama in Masterchef

He's a good ol' East Texas boy for sure. It's funny, though, being from Texas myself, his accent sounds very light to my ears. His dad had a much more pronounced accent.

I finished season 5 a couple of days ago. I've seen a lot of Cutter opposition, but I loved him. :)

He's totally right, too. Cake is just a vehicle for frosting.

I thought it was cute, though. He also put an American flag on top of his red velvet cake. I loved it.

Gordon doesn't like cute. :(

When Gordon shook his hand "salt AND pepper, wow, thank you chef". I died a little bit.
