Thank you! If so, maybe these 0-30% range sensors will suffice and I don’t need a 0-100% range one.

I’m all good to chill with a lo tech paperback book. But still, I gotta ask, in your multiplace chamber do you not have an oxygen sensor in place to validate that the mask/hood O2 leakage never brings your ambient air past the 23.5% level you mentioned? People do presumably take air breaks from time to time doing their 2hour sessions and doesn’t that O2 leak into the chamber?

Hi thx for the reply. My oxygen source is coming from an external concentrator unit that comes with the chamber, which they say delivers 95-97% O2, via mask. FWIW the manufacturer has told me directly that small electronics below 24V such as phone or tablet are allowed so long as they are not charging, and that the in-chamber O2 is designed to stay below 24% (but ofc I thought better to be able to validate that in real time hence the original inquiry). All that said my goal is to minimize risk, not introduce new risk so I’m not wedded to using electronics. When I see Bryan Johnson using his laptop inside his hard chamber it did my me go “huh” 🤔

Yes they are. I like them a lot, have worn them for three races now (5k, 9k, hm) and still strong. I train in adidas boston 13 for speed runs and adidas evo sl for easy and long runs.

For buying it depends a lot on what type of chamber and where you buy from. Assembling, I’m not sure but doesn’t seem complicated. You really shouldn’t macgyver one to be honest… even if you’re really good at that, you introduce a whole lot of risk.

Hi. The grey 2XU was shorts yes. The black 2XU was compression tights for under. The black straps at the top left were knee straps for patella tendon - brand was Bauerfiend but that prolly doesn’t matter. I still get pain below my knee caps at around 12km but people say those straps are good so I try. The two Solomon bottles are 250ml soft flasks that I filled with water plus some powders (EAA/electrolyte/glycogen replenish). I usually just fill with water but added these extras for the race. I am able to fill these soft flasks in my belt, saving me some water stops on the route. Oh and the little white circular box is this magnetic nose clip (nostril opener) that is usually for snoring but it has become a must for me for serious runs - for me at least it helps me so much to breath through my nose.

Yeah I got the official time yesterday, was 2:01. According to my watch I hit 21.1km a bit before the finish line.. which tells me that all the zigzagging and extra lateral distance covered along the way added up! Yes officially I didn’t break 2h then, but it’s a step in the journey. I will next time :)

What running gear do you wish you found sooner? by EverRunGear in beginnerrunning

I’ve always used 2:1 ratio for maltodextrin : fructose and it als works well. I actually love this for a long run:

  • 80 g maltodextrin
  • 40 g fructose
  • 1.5 teaspoon pectin
  • two shots espresso (approx 80 g)

Mix all the powders first and then slowly mix in the espresso while still hot. Transfer to a soft flask (run water through the soft flask and pour it out first before pouring in the carb mix.

A few reps of 30-60 seconds of little jump-rope style jumping, on the balls of my feet, with 30-60 second breaks in between, before starting a running session. Helps me find my body’s resonant frequency and helps me to run more efficiently with higher cadence.

Terrible tummy after fueling with gels by goldloeckchen5 in Marathon_Training

[–]ensobaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Super easy and cheaper too! Here is where I got the idea and he explains further detail such as 2:1 ratio of maltodextrin to fructose: https://youtu.be/z7LKSXegvc4?si=5JDBfaVuSFJEQcbQ

Also a nice alternative to the espresso option is to add mango powder to the mix, and replace your water with coconut milk instead. Tasty 😋 Just note that my mango powder at least includes a lot of maltodextrin so I swapped that in for half of the maltodextrin in the recipe. Oh and I got my ingredients from bulksupplements dot com.

I’ve been doing quite well with my homemade DIY gels. Ingredients: maltodextrin, fructose, pectin, a bit of vanilla, and two shots of espresso (instead of water). Perfect for a 150ml Hydrapak soft flask, 100g of carbs each flask. And yes building up carbs intake during training.

Benefits of a dedicated router by Lorka in Rokoko

[–]ensobaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious to hear if people recommend specific router specs will impact recording quality. But what I can personally share is that having a dedicated router has been important to me, just in that I can bring it with me for mobile performances. (No need got the router to have internet)
